Re: Active Guitar Cables?
I mean now that I have the 4046 that isn't a problem
But if we're talking about built-in always-on FX, I think a PLL would be way cooler than any of these options. Or just having a dedicated guitar with a PLL built into it. No need for cables, just plug in and rip.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Jamming with friends would be awesome the first time you plugged your CaPLL straight into your amp and let 'er rip.

Re: Active Guitar Cables?
That sounds pretty do-able. You could make a passive ringmod circuit pretty small with no batteries. Still bulkier than a regular jack, but manageable. You would need an additional carrier signal, or else the signal would have to modulate itself, and you would just get a somewhat messy octave-up. Passive overdrive would be even smaller, like one of those Black Ice mods. I can't speak for the sound quality of passive circuits, but it's something different.DRodriguez wrote:I just want a curly cable with built in ringmod
