i'd love to get a fuzz tone like on "here come the warm jets". apparently he used a "project wem" fuzz... no idea what that was, but would anyone have recommendations on getting a fuzz tone like this?

Just an FYI, Soundhack, the Watkins/WEM stuff was assembled in the UK, so if you're listening to British acts of the 60s/70s, there's a good chance you'll hear W/W stuff on the records (the Copicat tape delay being the most famous).

keep in mind that the Eno version is (at least) doubletracked & 'treated' in various ways. the finished product may bear only a slight resemblance to what was coming out of the guitar amp that day. but, yeah, WEM fuzz was what they used.

That's a rad picrfurtkamp wrote:A classic example of that:
I studied percussion under the principal percussionist of the la phil at the time
I told him I wanted to incorporate tympanic drums into rock he thought I was crazy
Eno, I think Led Zeppelin, Adam & the ants, love & rockets already did it I found later so I weren't crazy
