If I remember correctly, you've done some cool demos too, right Syl? Seem to recall a pretty video featuring the Mid-Fi Overdrive at least.

yeah i'm mostly on the ILF train for reviews... there's a few others I don't mind but i mostly scroll through those. ILFers keep my attention and it's usually a lot more fun and geared more towards what i'd want to do with it.

Yeah, ILF user Kayzer is Dennis Kayzer. I aspire to his playing though, for sure :)

Knobs audio quality is utterly shit, and couldn't care less for the pretentious production.

Kayzer is very good, he should shred less tho.

Brett Kingman and Just Nick are awesome.

Mars Volta and Tera Melos are okay, too much "fun".

I like Kingman as a dude, but he and Schnobel seem to sound exactly the same, no matter what pedal(s) they play. Say there's some nice sounding overdrive... you hear it for a second, then really soon after it's coated in cheese delay and the smooth wankin' commences.

Contrary to what I just said, I somehow find Pete Thorn videos totally transfixing, haha.

I feel like it's hard to find purely practical / informative videos, always some caveat. Nobody's brought up Curtis Kent—I think his vids are nicely informative, but he doesn't review the most interesting stuff. Occasionally.

+1 on Kingman and Schnobel.

I actually love the Pedals and Effects videos.
The videos always seem more like what would happen if you were hanging out with bandmates showing them the new pedal you got. Plus, the fact that they do both bass and guitar in the videos without it seeming like, "Oh, he's doing the same thing on bass now. Wow. So great. Woo." is nice.

I never could get into Curtis Kent because of the sheer amount of shitty P&W pedals he demos that all sound exactly the same.

Stefan.fast is doing demos now as "The Pedal Zone". I don't like his gushy, irrelevant descriptions of the pedals, but his playing is nice, as is the audio quality.

Also, nobody has mentioned Lord Galvar aka Contriviad?
Ha, yea, not really an audience outside of four people....

Don't fit the criteria either haha.

But I have fun :idk:

Irerror, swuzzzups, SYL, UC, UG, oldangelmidnight, nora, goroth, et al is where I go. Tons of good people doing neat stuff around ILF.

MagicLawnChair is a classic channel too (and ILF!).

I dig all the different styles, approaches, choices, etc. Don't really care too much about perfect sound (I know nothing is going to sound similar in setup to mine, esp with fuzzes outside of irerror ... Flying Samurai Brigade!)

I like divkid for ideas and stuff. I think he does a good job. I like Andy here and there too.

Dude I've always wondered if he's P&W. Doesn't mention anything in his about section, but the vibe is definitely there

I hope he's just a goober.

For me, MLC set the template for the "non-demo" & those're probably the only kinds of videos I'll ever shoot. :!!!: :snax:

I was not aware that my demos were reviewish.

I have no set format for my demos. I think I'd get bored. Sometimes I talk, other times I don't. Mic up? Hardly ever. Too lazy. Pairings? Occasionally. Informative/objective or silly/subjective? All depends on my mood. :erm:

Anyways, everyone I watch have already been mentioned (except vidret?^^^ He real good). Mostly ILFers.

Living room demos is a fellow Norwegian demoer. A bit TGPish in style, but his demos look and sound very good.

I don't know for sure, but he does manage to demo a lot of JHS, T1M, Strymon, etc. pedals. :idk:
Also, based on his blog/youtube links/instagram, he appears to be part of that scene (whether in a bad way or not, I couldn't say).

Dude, do not start a fight with me on this one. :engarde:

By "review" I simply meant that they more thoroughly cover what a pedal is capable of.

Reviewish?
