Looking for new pedal reviews
I know one of the threads started straying to reviews by just nick, andy, rheindhart, etc...
Who do you go to for your pedal reviews? I'm getting sick on the endless noodling and want something that gives me the low down on the gear without too much bullshit.

… and with the exception of maybe UC & ESB, they're not particularly proper "reviews" either.
Sure, they're demonstrations of a sort, but viewers/listeners may not be able to actually get a good sense of the pedal in question.
It's a difficult question to answer.
I do like being able to tell what all the features of a pedal do, but I don't necessarily wanna hear somebody explain them.
Also, UG is now doing mostly synth stuff on his new channel, "smog filter", don't know if he'll continue the other channel.

I thought I was the only guy crazy about manuals. I read them a few times before buying, then another one when it's on its way, then another one when it's on my hands, then I start playing it lol.Chankgeez wrote: I do like being able to tell what all the features of a pedal do, but I don't necessarily wanna hear somebody explain them.![]()

Re: Looking for new pedal reviews
I've never seen a single or even list of sources that provide meaningful info.
I just search and read and listen to a few demos and figure it out from there.

Re: Looking for new pedal reviews
I read manuals for gear all the time. Lots of times that's the only way to find out everything it can do. And even then that's no guarantee that you'll know anything (the manual for the dd500 is useless).tremolo3 wrote:I thought I was the only guy crazy about manuals. Re: Looking for new pedal reviews
Interesting on the DD500 manual being useless, it made sense to me (not having said pedal) but I understand the current Boss/Roland topography and manual-writing enough to know that it just covers "what does this parameter perhaps do"

Oh yeah, that DD-500 manual is lame as fuck, I still bought the pedal because Boss.

Same here, I follow all of these 5 great youtube channels, as well as Eivind's channel (Irerror), Proguitarshop, SimonTheMagpie, and Pedal Of The Day. LongFallBoots too-that's a great one for fuzz demos.raj007 wrote:I look to these guys for "interesting" pedals:
