It's different in Quebec.colin wrote:My personal experience bringing guitars into Canada is that I've just had to pay 12% tax. Granted they haven't been shipped directly to me, I've picked them up in the US and drove across the border.sylnau wrote:Kosta, I just chatted with a guy here in Quebec City who purchase a lot of guitars in the USA.
For a 2000$ guitar shipping is around 150$ then we have to add 20% for custom fees and then around 500$ or more for broker fees.
I'll meet this guy tomorrow... he purchase and sell guitars.
A trip to NYC to go guitar shopping sounds like the best option to me.

After trying a lot of things... I think this thing is going to stay here with me.
I must keep it and get second guitar later.

That tele looks hella fun, man. Unique, too. Are the pickups stock? If you're not happy with whatever's in there, you can always save the originals and have a LOT of fun messing with swapping out either of those pickups.
Bonus on the proper ashtray bridge, too
, not a fan of the flat ones with no edges.

Re: Looking for a new guitar
I replaced the pickups by Lollar Special T / Regal.
And I replaced the capacitor to Orange Drop.
The bridge pickup is still way too bright... I can't use it (it's a tele).
The middle position sound great.
If I keep it I will have to change the saddles... the intonation is not perfect.

Not sure yet what I'll do...
If I keep it, I might change the bridge for a Mastery or maybe a Glendale.
Also... I sent an email to Lollar to see if the B.S. Tele Bridge pickup would match my Regal wide range neck. That might be an option too.

Re: Looking for a new guitar
Do you know what value pots and cap you have in there Syl? Lower value pots and a different cap might help mellow out the bridge pickup a bit.
