I'm getting the urge to help "Made in the USA" companies so this badboy is a great excuse ... I also love the form factor and compatibility with Eurorack (which I do not have); too bad it can't sync with the Korg MS-20 mini

I'm definitely interested to hear what people think. From the little snippets I've heard of it, it generally seems to excel at percussive/plucky stuff but seems a little plain when it comes to bigger sounds. That little video seems to suggest otherwise
I've narrowed down my entry into eurorack to this or the Pittsburgh SV-1 Lifeforms.

Honestly, when I saw it I thought it looked cool but saw it as Moog's attempt to jump into Eurorack. I saw it as a sort of novelty. After watching that vid I changed my mind ...

As far as features go, it looks a lot like the microbrute. But the sequencer looks better, and I'd much rather have something this simple be a module as opposed to something that has full-size keys attached to it.
If you want something modular-friendly, also consider the Makenoise 0-Coast. A bit less straightforward but very nice too.
Makenoise put tons of videos on youtube if you have some time...
Make Noise 0-Coast or Lifeforms SV-1 over Mother 32 any day for me. I had a Mother 32 for a long time in my main modular case and the second I heard the SV-1 I was ready to switch it out. SV-1 is a significantly more varied, variable, deep synth. The patch points on the Mother 32 would make it a great expander for the SV-1 but on it's own I found it really bland and lame. The 0-Coast is my favorite synth of all time so I'll always hype the everloving shit out of that one as well. Mother 32 was really sweet for a while and then Pittsburgh and Make Noise obliterated it and now it feels as old-fashioned and out of touch as a Voyager Old School to me.
I play guitar and modular synthesizer in Juggable Offense.

That's kind of the impression I got comparing the mother 32 to the lifeforms. But I really want that sequencer. Seems like it could be really fun. If it wasn't for that sequencer I would have no question about getting the lifeforms. If there was a simple sequencer module that worked like that, I'd love to pair it with the sv-1.
One thing I don't get about the lifeforms is why they didn't allow the midi adapter to have two-note paraphonic output (with separate cv-outs). Seems like it wouldn't be too hard, but that thing is cram-packed with lots of lovely goodies and I really don't know what that would take?
Keystep looks pretty neat too, with the keyboard and the ability to switch channels and the price and what not, though it doesn't have the classic analog sequencer styling.
The thing that entices me the most about the mother 32 sequencer is that it'll transpose the sequence based on the incoming midi signal. So, in that sense it's a bit like a programmable arpegiator. The only other sequencer I know of that does this is on the monologue.
