Re: Bitquest or second CT5?
Get a BitQuest. I have one of each on my board; they're great together. If you want pitch shifting, know that both are goofy, aliased, not-pristine, not really polyphonic (and not primarily pitch shifters). I actually think the pitch algo on the BQ is kinda lame, and one of the weaker modes, but it serves a particular purpose really well.

Yeah, well said. Not for those looking to do epic swells or complex chordal work +/- octaves. The POG2 is the best for that.

You need 2 Pitchfactors.

Yeah, the reason I loved the BQ's pitch mode was precisely because how slurry it made everything sound. Twas great paired with the fuzz setting too.

I agree with every single post in this thread.
Have a BQ, Ct5, and a Pitchfactor. Add in some interesting dirt and you're good to go. Those three will entertain for hours.
If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, what so intoxicating, as possibility!

i did a two ct5 thing for a bit but it didn't last that long. fun for fucking around but didn't suit my needs in "practical" manner, whatever the stink that means.

I should find my Kierkegaard books, that's a name I haven't thought of in a while and I could probably really benefit from reading his stuff.Invisible Man wrote:I agree with every single post in this thread.

Re: Bitquest or second CT5?
Yea, idk guys, the Bitquest would be sweet if I didn't already have the effects it excels at covered. Infinite reverb, delay, gain sources, trem-like effects. An LFO and Ring Mod would be nice, but I'm lacking Pitch shifting the most, that's what's kept me from the BQ so long. The BQ would be another source of filters along with the Pretty Years though, and that would be pretty beneficial. How do you guys like the bq on non-guitar or bass sources?
Wizard of Pitch and Particle both could be cool, probably the Particle more so for my needs right now.
I really just need a H910

It is a good mantra for rampant gear consumerism.vidret wrote:That quote encompasses the entire reason I've even looked twice at Euro.Invisible Man wrote:I agree with every single post in this thread.

If you just want to shift pitches I wouldn't do either the BQ or the Ct5.Psyre wrote:Yea, idk guys, the Bitquest would be sweet if I didn't already have the effects it excels at covered. The ring mod on the BQ is the best I have played after Randy, and the sample rate reduction is awesome. I use the LFO SRR and the reverb the most. Also the flanger which is sick (though doesn't go super slow, it goes moderately slow, or it stops and you can use it as a comb filter). Also like the fuzz side. Clean side gets a lot of hype, and justifably so, but you can get some really nice dirty delay sounds, and also trashy reverb. Good fun.
But yeah, if you want pitch shifting maybe that whammy ricochet thing.

As someone who owns 7 pitchshifters, I would also reiterate this sentiment.UglyCasanova wrote:This.goroth wrote: If you just want to shift pitches I wouldn't do either the BQ or the Ct5.
I got my bitquest today- totally blown away by it! It's the first ring mod Ive been able to enjoy playing and every mode yields awesome sounds. I doubt I will be using the pitchshifter at all though, as clearly I have that area covered

Re: Bitquest or second CT5?
I had both for a bit. I shoulda fucked with the Bitquest more. I ended up ditching it for a RM1N, and didn't like the RM1N enough to keep it
.
So I got a Blue Sky.
I want a dirty reverb real bad, but haven't found one I really wanna hang on to. I love my Supermoon. I keep thinking Empress would be the way to go. Went to buy one today, store is sold out.
Maybe I'll just wait for a Ventris.

Yarr. I'd wait for the Ventris to enter the scene, since the Empress is pretty pricey and you could better weigh your options by then. And no need toAntlerface wrote:I had both for a bit.
