Bitquest or second CT5?
How does the Bitquest do for pitchshifting? I use the CT5 a lot, and often find myself wishing I had another to stack modes, but the swiss army knife of the Bitquest could serve me well as well....

Never played the BitQuest....but the Dwarfcraft Wizard of Pitch is really great...and they're releasing a Super Wizard soon...could fit the bill for you.

Damn CT5 + WOP would be deadly!
I think it depends entirely on what modes you would use the two CT5s in.

Yeah I can't imagine not having both on my board anymore, the combo is pretty sick.

Re: Bitquest or second CT5?
Something to note with the bitquest is that you can't snap to specific intervals like with the ct5. Unless you want to go all the way up to 2 octaves (I think it's two, but it might be three...), you have to just ballpark it and then use your ears. This can make it difficult in live situations (at least for those of us with bands that have limited patience for R2D2 sounds).
But if specific pitch intervals don't matter for your style of music, then the bitquest delay behaves similarly to ct5 mode 1. It doesn't have reverse, and each pitch-shifted interval happens above and below the original pitch. If you've got it set for an octave, the first repeat will be an octave up, and the next one will be an octave down (unless you've got the time knob set fairly short).
Anyway, I just say that to say that the bitquest isn't quite as controllable when it comes to pitch shifting delays as the ct5. It has a cool glitchy quality to it, and can make some unique sounds, but it just depends what is more important to you. With the ct5 you have the benefit of more control and looping, whereas with the bitquest you have the benefit of a swiss army knife that also does pitch delay.

Re: Bitquest or second CT5?
That's actually why i got my Ct5, I loved the pitch delay on the bitquest and wanted more of it, more control, and to do bit crushing with the bitquest.

BQ for sure. You can even make it do semi-ct5ish stuff in delay mode:

And then you can't touch it at all so it stays in tune haha, it does sound fantastic though

Hit a note > tune? Takes like three seconds.

As a guy who has two Bitquest, I say get another and a CT5.

Re: Bitquest or second CT5?
Although I just sold mah second, I say get a BitQuest. As others mentioned, you can cop some of the Ct5 with the BQ's delay and the pitchshifting was my second most used mode after the delay.

Yup, 2 bitquests and a CT5 is the right answer.jwar wrote:As a guy who has two Bitquest, I say get another and a CT5.
