This is my first DIY project ever. I have her for like 3 years now. Built from scratch. All I bought was the tuners and the strings. Everything else is built by me. Without decent (meaning: electric) tools. But it was so much fun and I love it to death. It's also very versatile. You can make it sound like a crappy version of every stringed instrument you can think of. Right now I use it as a three-string Gu Qin since no decent ones are to be found in Germany.
The "Schindluder" has a simple Piezo glued to the inside of the box. I think it is somewhere next to the middle - should be more or less where the label is scraped off. I wanted it to be in the middle, but with the neck-through construction that didn't work. I kind of plan on building another one and maybe building a pickup for it too. I remember back when I did research for this one I found nice trick for using a record player to wind the PU.
Thanks guys! I have only built 5 or 6 pedals and finishing the enclosures was always the hardest part. These came out pretty good. It was my first time etching and they came out a lot better than expected. I have gotten a lot better with wiring and soldering so now it's gonna be a lot more fun to whip out more. Both of these circuits sound sick. Gonna add a boost on the end of the Fuzzmaster, though. It's just below clean signal volume, but sounds awesome and nasty...
Thanks a lot Moose! I had a dreadful market research job in 1992 and would watch the clock second by second when making calls. Then I started to draw monsters. This was one of them. Kinda fun for a wacky pedal.
thanks linoleum works ok.just have to get the right amount of ink on it.so it took quite a few tries. i imagine screening is a better method. yes you can play with it.
