Thanks for the help dudes!
It doesn't sound like it contains spaceships or hobbits, or space-faring hobbits... so I probably haven't read it.

Totally agree. If you're going to do a big box, you better at least put top jacks on it to minimize the footprint.

It does contain an alternate future where Netflix happened via VHS and Quebecois terrorists are pissed off that the US catapults its waste into Canada.

An alternate future where we talk to each other on videophone, oh wait. That's actually happened.

FWIW it's a hella great book - got me out of a huge depression (although that may have just been coincidental and I got out of the depression in the time it took me to get through the dang thing)
And Evlind, the title of the book is a reference to Hamlet (one of the story arcs is like a weird, twisted version of Hamlet), so you still get your gold star :)*

This pedal sounds pretty cool, but it might end up being one of those that I like, but don't see myself ever using enough to buy (much like the Dream Sequence)

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

I remember really enjoying the challenge of reading it. I literally read in in 10-20 page increments over 4 months, but felt very satisfied after reading it. It might be pompous or hip or whatever, but who cares? You should be reading for your own enjoyment, anyways.

I realize I haven't said much about this pedal, but I feel I could get a lot of these sounds with pedals I already have. I'm thinking 4046-M > POG2 > Protostar > Spectre. And probably a reverb in there somewhere.

In other news, I think you (baremountain) and I would get along well were we to live in the same city.

Also I own and love Infinite Jest but I lost my fucking bookmark a third of the way through it and i'll be damned if I'm starting from the beginning so I haven't finished it.

The Pale King was really, really good, though.

I've made 3 trips to Nashville since Sept '15, so I'm definitely no stranger to those parts. My best friend moved out there to get his PhD at Vandy (since quit to do music; he hangs w folks in Linear Downfall, Butthole, and Skoolgirl if you're familiar with them) so I make it a point to go visit him fairly often. He, too, has quite the gear collection. I'll definitely let you know next time I'm in town :thumb:

Lol I started reading 1 year before I seriously read it and only got 100 or so pages in. When I picked it back up I just started from somewhere around there  I've only read selections from The Pale King (the 100 page one in the middle about how the guy joined the IRS was great). I've read a buncha his other works too; his nonfiction is stellar if you haven't looked into it.

This has now become the Infinite Jets discussion/Infinite Jest fan thread
