Noice. I still have my original Gameboy somewhere. The actual fuzz would be redundant in my setup, but it's a fun idea.

Chatted with someone who has one on IG. Apparently the guy is a pain in the ass to work with and does sloppy work (bad soldering and loose jacks leaving gaping gaps). Plus, the fuzz consists of like seven parts. :p

I can't speak for the quality of the game boy hacks but Steve has never been difficult when I've spoke with him and I've had two things he's worked on (one of his Auroras, great delay ped btw, and he modded my dist+) and both are solid builds.

I don't know about that. But the game boy fuzz looks like a 7th grade science project (just look at that crooked jack). My IG buddy has UG amounts of gear, so I believe him when he says that he was difficult to work with. That being said, I don't recall what the specific problem was. I think it might have been communication, or rather lack thereof.

I dunno, I don't mind sending a few nagging emails as long as nobody's being a dickhead. If that's your standard for "poor communication, difficult to work with" then that's different to my standard.

I just remembered, he sent two Aurora delays to me because the first one went missing in the post and he was really cool about it. Second one turned up immediately. This was a couple of years ago but he did my Dist+ in the last 12 months and that was without problem. I guess he could have had an off period when your pal was interacting with him but my experience of Steve is the opposite of that.

How is that not poor communication? Not getting replies is poor communication, and that, as a result, makes it difficult to work with the person on the other end.

The build looks shitty. That's what it comes down to. Bottom line. Thought I'd share what I've heard so people knew. Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. Pics speak for themselves, if building a pedal you step on inside 25 year old thin MIC plastic wasn't big enough of a warning sign.

That being said, I'm glad to hear that your experience has been good. :thumb:

I don't expect anyone to reply to my emails too promptly because I'm so shit at replying to people sometimes
