This might be a stretch, but... (SOUTHERN NOISE COMP)
I run a very shitty, unprofessional tape and CD-r label based out of Huntsville, AL: http://www.myspace.com/ismolsicsiwsrecords (That page is incredibly out of date, BTW).
I am looking to make a relatively small run of comp. tapes showcasing Harsh Noise/Noisecore music from the Southeastern US (No Ambient shit, plz)...
Depending on the # of entries, this could be a C-90, or 5-6 minutes of shit dubbed over some sucky Disturbed demo tapes I've have for over a decade, since those are what I have available to record to.
If I can get close to 45 minutes of material, I will just dub the same stuff to both sides of a C-90.
Otherwise, I may just go the "Recycled" route.
These tapes will be packaged with a standard J-card (and info. sheet if needed).
I do not own a dubbing machine. The closest thing I have is a Fostex X-26 4-track recorder... that is precisely what I will be using in order to dub each tape at normal speed, ONE AT A TIME. Expect plenty of drop-outs and a slight loss of high-end!
-Please, try to keep submissions within 2-6 minutes if possible.
-Submit multiple projects if you've got them.
-Include all pertinent info. with submissions.
-Send electronic submissions to: theraytownians@hotmail.com
-PM me for my address to submit non-digital entries (STANDARD CASSETTES OR CD-RS ONLY). I may be able to return submitted tapes, but I'm not making any promises.
-Realize that, while I will try to get each artist a minimum of one copy, I can't make guarantees, and most of these tapes are going to be traded online or otherwise given away freely.
NO FEE TO ENTER, NO PROFIT GAINED, EXPECT NO PAY-BACK!!!
Lastly, I reserve the right to reject any submissions, but I'd prefer not to get a bunch of racist, misogynistic, or homophobic BS to begin with! Thanks - Jon Ingram/The Raytownian(s)

My connection is incredibly slow (which seems to happen every time it rains), and I can't even get the fucking page to load ATM, but I'll listen later.

Bummer - if you were accepting submissions from the Northeast, I'd hook something up for you... alas...

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

'sup, bitches?
Here's a re-post from another forum that might answer a few questions and explain some shizz:
More thoughts about this comp. that I puked up all over Oubliette's lap via email:
Please let all your Southern Noise Friends who would like to contribute know about this! Thanks.

More thoughts about this comp. that I puked up all over Oubliette's lap via email:
...Just to explain my stance regarding "no ambient shit", I don't mind being a little loose about my restrictions, but I want to at least avoid purely-ambient music or anything that might be called "Noise Rock" simply because I feel that "pure noise" is very under-represented and unrecognized in the region, while ultra-mellow ambient music and "Noise Rock" is not nearly as unknown... in fact, it seems like "Noise" Rock is pretty hip these days!
As long as it's at least sort of Harsh Noise, some kind of "sick" sounding Power Electronics, or really extreme, chaotic Noisecore, I'm glad to use it!
I don't know what the scenes are really like in regions of FL, GA, or NC, but I am the whole scene in Huntsville, or so it seems... I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd really like to make this about Noise artists from the South who are seriously into what they do because there seems to be, at least in my region, sort of an ambivalent attitude towards booking Noise events/supporting Noise artists, even at the local "arts" venue.
I'd like to at least validate this shit a little more, particularly in my city, but also abroad, even if it doesn't create a wider audience. It seems like people in my area don't believe that anyone can "seriously" want to make/hear Noise. In fact, it's totally alien to many people... I always get into discussions about Lightning Bolt or something when a conversation veers toward "Noise Music"!
Please let all your Southern Noise Friends who would like to contribute know about this! Thanks.

Whut? Like a "tribute to your favorite SL artist" comp?
Who knows... it could happen... and so could a general all-over Noise comp, or an ILF Noise comp! Right now, I am just focusing on Noise music from the Southeast since it's hardly ever recognized (beyond states like those I mentioned above)... I have to live here... I gotta do something to make it more interesting!
Christ, last night sent Yip-Yip a message on myspace asking if they wanted to do a Noise tape on my label sometime...
Point is, I'm game for almost anything, especially if it's NOISY (or otherwise really awesome).
