Reminds me that I really need to build a box and hook up some knobs and buttons to mine...
We gotta talk more about this, SLM. Thinking hard about making this work for me...I've got 18" of enclosure space, so I figure I can comfortably do seven stomps to control looper functions with an Axoloti in the enclosure.

Loop one (record/dub)
Loop two (record/dub)
Play/Stop
Play once
Reverse
Speed
Fade

Could sync it all to MIDI clock, too, via my Pitchfactor.

You've got one--is that at all feasible? What do you do with yours?
Seems like all this could be done -- you just have to learn/know how to program tables. Not sure what the loop lengths are limited to (using board ram) or latency is like when saving/reading from an as card. Poke around the Axo forum -- lots of people looping and building tools to use.

The stomps and fades and clock syncs would be easy, and easy to add more features too.
I would think the latency would be determined on how much of the ram and processor power you're using? I think it has 8mb of ram available for user programs?

I just found this on the ehx 720 and seems to be in-line with everyone says, and it's the same on the hazarai... .5 secs behind. why didn't they fix this?
others that have their higher-grade loopers like the 2880, does it do this as well? or is it a different algorithm?
so a ditto x2 might be my best best and/or the flashback x4 since it's like of like an upgraded dl4. it's gonna be hard to ditch the e2 because other the time restraints, it's perfect.

"Not so with the EH720. It is very easy to clip the beginning notes of the loop and VERY difficult to end the loop seamlessly. You need to end the loop with an anticipatory stomp that is ever so slightly ahead of the downbeat so that it flows with the beginning of the loop. This is nearly impossible to do. I have practiced this and practiced this for several weeks now and I simply have not yet gotten it to where I can be consistent. It drives me absolutely nucking futs. At first I thought it was because the unit was sliding out from under my foot on the carpet. So, I velcroed it to my pedal board. This did improve the response somewhat but it did not cure the problem. I think the only real solution is to just keep practicing until I get it right. But I really think that Electro-Harmonix should take note of this problem.

In the end, the EH720 is a keeper because it offers just what the Boss needs to offer - namely a fade-out and storage of up to 10 loops. But, I'm keeping the Boss as well. This is because we do a lot more songs in our show than we can store in either pedal and so, I need to have the Boss for looping live in front of the audience. My singer and I have actually started using the Boss to record the loops in the EH720 in order to get smoother songs.

With the ability to store loops, the EH720 could really use a USB interface but, alas, it is not here. I suppose that capability would run the price up.

I only thought it would be fair to come back to this thread (that I started) to say that I am having the same issue with the EH720 looper that many have been having. It is extremely difficult to create a seamless loop. I can't exactly pinpoint exactly what it is due to, but in a head to head comparison of my Ditto looper, there is a small slip/hiccup sound when each loop restarts on the 720, as if the start and stop was not clicked correctly. This does not happen with my Ditto. And I went back and forth enough times between the two to determine that it wasn't me.

The 720 will be on the emporium. And I'll be back in the hunt for a compact looper with hi-fidelity and a few storage banks for multiple loops.

The search continues... "

Necrobumping this thread: I was looking for some infos, didn't want to start a new one, but haven't found the Droids I was looking for.

School me on tiny/small/mini loopers with at least 30sec recording time and solid footswitch (Ditto outtahere plz) to put at the beginning of the chain.
No need for internal memory, but if a couple of slots are there I could use them. I just want something for live use to loop stuff with and then go crazy with effects and I already have a looper at the end of the chain.

So, do we have to wait for the Chase Bliss Blooper and go bankrupt or what? I was hoping to find something simpler.

I've used had several cheapo loopers I've scored from Aliexpress + have gotten decent utility out of most. (though I'm usually just doing ambient gooey looping, so syncing to other things/nailing beats is outside my range of worries.)

Most of these exist in variant brands, but are generally the same thing.

This is the basic nano looper, cheapo equivalent of teh one button Ditto, etc.: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ammoon- ... 04354.html
* theoretically 10 minutes recording time.
* rugged enough
* if you dig around, there's a cool variant that has a toggle that adds 1/2 speed + reverse capabilities.

I've gotten good use out of this stereo looper: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Rowin-L ... 27724.html
* essentially dual mono ins/outs, you you can run two things through it if you want
* has reverse + a dial with a range of speed playback options
* two buttons instead of one on the nano

This one is essentially an EHX 720 ripoff, I am given to understand: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ammoon- ... 73257.html
* also stereo/dual mono
* can record up to 10 different loops
* has a nice variable fade option on stopping a loop

....and for my expensive looping needs, I'm also getting good mileage out of my Expedition Electronics 60 Second Delay (https://expeditionelectronics.com/Index/Product) which surfs that delay/loop boundary.

I had one of these once, eventually sold it.
Yes it's an almost EHX720 ripoff, basically same features, BUT: you can't set the looping flow to be rec > dub > play. It only does rec > play > dub.
Also, when I overloaded its input with noise synths or very high levels, the loops would start to sound distored and very lofi, or also after few overdubs the audio quality would drop.
Anyhow for the price I found it to be a cool unit. I wanted to pair it with a EHX720 for my noise setup, but that thing not being able to go directly to overdub after rec, and the audio quality loss, made me sell it.

Better search a 720 on the second hand market.

Or if you don't need anything fancy (like reverse, half speed, memory banks, etc..., just the basic rec/play/dub/undo features): Boss RC1.
I have the RC3, and these loopers are rock solid.

If the blooper can be synced via midi as slave i'm down to try it.
I still use my lexicon jamman loopers. I have now 4, two on my board, one as home setup synced to a volcano beats and one as backup if one dies. This is still the looper that works for me. It is a pity, that a 20 year old product is still the only one that works with midi as i want it to.

Beside that i have a lofi loop junkie and a RC-2. Both are nice for some jams alone.

I have been looking at one made by CNZ, they seem to be a slightly better variant of the stuff coming from China.

I mean, if you don't have to work too hard to find a mint condition 720 for $80, why opt for something like this that you'll have trouble getting resale on?
