Reverse Reverbs (sorry, this topic again)
Just curious for an update to the reverse reverb sounds available in pedals these days......
Specifically whether the Reverse modes in Valeton Coral verb and Muza FD900 are worth any cop? (They cheap!)
Or is still a case of Digiverb being absolute king of this effect in the smallest possible package?
I know of the Magicstomp, Cathedral, Holy Grail Max, SPX90, Midiverb etc but they're all too big for the space I wanna devote. I already have an RV-7 too, but I want a second reverse capable reverb with a wet/dry mix for earlier in my chain. Marshall Reflector sucked ballz.

Digiverb is king. or eventide space.
The red panda context has gated reverb which can cop the reverse. I like that better actually
Oh, the hardware rv7 too

Still a large pedal but maybe helpful for folks interested but with other requirements: Walrus Audio Descent has reverse too. I didn't like it for MBV style washes, it cuts off quite sharply and replicates the envelope very precisely with a strong reverse pick attack at the end, but in that sense it lends itself very well to psychedelic stuff. Kind of a less finicky reverse delay.

Was hoping the new Source Audio would do it, but it appears it doesn't. Och SHIT.

What about the Digitech Polara? I haven't got one but from what I've heard its quite competent and uses Lexicon circuits/algorithims

Pretty sure it's a rehoused RV-7. I know at least the reverse doesn't have dry/wet blend, that knob just becomes a level control for full wet, same as the RV-7Smarty wrote:What about the Digitech Polara? The Empress is pretty decent at this, but it's a little bigger, and a lot pricey-er

BOOOO.
I may take the plunge on the Valeton..... it's just so damn cheap I can't lose right? I mean if it totally sucks ass I'll grab a digiverb.

Where are you getting deets on this, Dungus? Just curious, wanna know more about the Source thing. Aren't there going to be two versions? Surprised at lack of reverse.Dungus wrote:Was hoping the new Source Audio would do it, but it appears it doesn't. Och SHIT.

Saw a full frontal pic of it somewhere... probably here! I'll have a look for it. Yeah, it didn't have a reverse function on the scroll wheel thingy, so im assuming it doesn't feature. LOADS of shimmer no doubt, though.popvulture wrote:Where are you getting deets on this, Dungus? Just curious, wanna know more about the Source thing. Aren't there going to be two versions? I think the hatred of Shimmer tends to come from how it's used. I know I like it a lot more than I thought I would when I got my hands on a delay that could actually do it without automatically sounding like an angel sadly rubbing its nether regions wishing it had fun parts to play with.

There is a full frontal image somewhere in the NAMM thread, but it doesn't have reverse. I remember because I was incredible disappointed by the fact that it didn't have reverse on it.Dungus wrote:Saw a full frontal pic of it somewhere... probably here! I'll have a look for it. Hark the fuckin' herald angels sing. I wish they'd all just leave that shit to Strymon.
EDIT: didn't they say there were going to be two versions though? I remember something about one at around $199, then a "crazier" one at around $300. I would hope at least the weirder one has reverse. We shall see.
