Yeah sounds like you're after something else but thought I'd throw it out there. Fun box.

404 sp sx has some sample effects I've hear on the op 1 buuut also totally different beasts, you only would use computer on the roland sp if your storing samples...it's better to record/cut samples on the fly with the sp...I liked fcknoise demos of op 1 on the show your jams theead.

FYI the volca sample doesnt have sampling capabilities, it just does sample playback.

like. technically? if you sample a recording of a past performance?

i had some bro/brah Keanu based incredulous at multi directional time travel being a reality quip to go with that but i think mebbe it sounded better in my head.

Do you even play bass any more???

Quit trying to transfer samples and just record into your sampler... The SP's are incredible and can do anything and are easy and they're cool and they have effects and Madlib uses one and they're on CL for cheap and they're Dig Dug approved and why don't you just get one and the OP and play everything everywhere at anytime with a cool sampler that can do things and play stuff and mix master your tracks to the upmost supreme awesomeness that you are and stuff and things...

a trick to get more sample time out of your e2s.
import sounds with a lower sample rate than 44.1 kHz. i did half 22.050 for double and used a batch converter to resample my sounds quickly.
the e2s sample manager program (free on windows, $10 on apple) speeds up the process immensely.
plus you can erase all or any of the factory sounds you don't like w/ it.

i loaded a ton of single cycle waveforms in mine (also a good way to save space for other sounds as they are like 1kB each). now i gots synths galore
the adventure kid packs have thousands of these all ready to go.

yea i know exactly what u mean. i think its better if you make a couple sample sets and then save them to your card, then over time make a bunch of beats.

since i got my sample sets going, i've started to dig in more and more. i like it for a lot of reasons, dislike for many too. if it had 128mb of ram like say an mpc1000…well hey now

Perhaps the Novation Circuit would be a good option? I think it is supposed to be intuitive to use and very self-contained.
