Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
just ordered a pair of 7591A tubes off of eBay for my Kalamazoo Bass 30. Hopefully this will get rid of the weird noises it's been making and give me one of three amps that's in operating condition.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Thanks for that info. I opened both pedals up, and couldn't see anything wrong... but one pedal is a MSL Gristleizer clone, it looks hella complicated in there, and some of it's gooped or hot glued. That one is hard to eyeball. The other one is a Bad Comrade (of course they both had to be good pedals too GAH) and I can't see anything obviously wrong with it... they both have a 'metallic' smell thoughcrochambeau wrote:That sucks, I have experienced power supply mishaps as well. If you're handy, identify and open up the now inoperable effects and look for charred parts. Hopefully it's limited to caps (tantalums are the worst offenders with failure due to polarity issues) but sometimes semiconductors get wiped out (especially any logic chips on a non-polarity protected power rail).K2000 wrote:But now a couple of other pedals don't work.

The Pod AC adapter I plugged them into is 9v AC, I know that my 1Spot daisy chain adapters for Line 6 are different than the typical Boss style... is Boss style power DC? And is that difference sufficient to wreck a pedal?

Not to leap in in your moment of distress for my own financial flexibility or anything but if you want an AC Gristleizer...

Debating getting a second board for my dirt to be able to squeeze in what I want on the main, and it quickly got out of hand

Beebuzz is a fender blender and the super badass distortion is a carcosa. I can't believe pedalboardplanner doesn't have a fender blender or DOD as a brand?

Nah just get yourself a bigger PT or PT style. I've tried everything. Big boards à la PT-Pro with switchers cause you can't reach the top. Dual medium boards... Always fall back on a PT-2, well now a Novo 24. It's just the most practical and less intense setting up or wiring or troubleshooting if something goes wrong

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I've ended up with an 80s non-sloped glow-in-the-dark rat2 and I hate hate HATE it with single coils (ie. most of my guitars) but it sounds incredible with my 80s yamaha Les Paul copy.
With a Mustang/80s Tokai strat, the tone filter goes from awful harsh upper-mid/treble with honky mids and not enough bass until about 2 o'clock where you get blanket-over-amp sound. It's really bad for the low-mid gain tones I want.
With the Yamaha, it kind of sounds good with the filter anywhere. Gain up to about 10-11 o'clock is all I need for a classic blues/rock sound. It's just not a sound I use out of the house and I think an EQD Gray channel would do what I want and then some. I think I'm anti- tone controls on pedals, they should just be voiced 'right'.

I didn't know what to expect really. I thought I'd be able to get more variation out of it (low/mid/hi gains) but it just doesn't gel with either of my main guits.Brandsmannen wrote:Huh? Is it common to think rats blow with singles???

A lot of people hate the Timbre Wolf, but surely it has some decent sounds inside for what--- 200 Euros?Brandsmannen wrote:Hm, I'll look into it more.

What I'm thinking. Hell, if it makes those sounds like in the video onboard without external fx it's right up my alleyechorec wrote:A lot of people hate the Timbre Wolf, but surely it has some decent sounds inside for what--- 200 Euros?Brandsmannen wrote:Hm, I'll look into it more.
