Yep. Not like past half the volume though. But with my VI in the register I play it, it sounded really cool.

I don't have any actual frame of reference on that front. I've replaced dem obsolete drummers with drum machines exclusively 6 years ago

 fair enough!
that is most likely what I would be doing with the JC40 anyway, cause I ain't no Dominic Fragman,
but maaaaaaaybe once in a while I'd get to grab my shit and play with an actual human being :thumb:

Anyone had any recent experiences with the 22 or 40?

I'm now debating between a JC-22 vs. a 40. I'm never going to gig again (that was back in my synth playing days) and I probably won't ever play outside the house. I'm just wondering if the 40 sounds "better' than the 22 and if I would use the vibrato and dirt on the 40. I've always used my Pathfinder 15r set to cleans as I let the pedals handle dirt which isn't really that much as I like a lot of jangly stuff like The Smiths, Beach Fossils, and Real Estate with the occasional bombast from Slowdive and The Verve.

Vibrato on the JCs is one of the classic things I love them for.

Dirt, I have no idea on the 'improved' circuit, because..well....my most recent JC is from 1980 or so!

necro bump

Is anyone using one of these (JC-22) as an apartment/practice amp? I've acquired some pedals with stereo capability and am looking for a convenient way to exploit them. Love to be able use my squier bass VI (w/ strangle in a higher register) with it at apartment vols and get my robert smith on.

My buddy has one in his apartment, and the volume is fine both for not-bothering-the-neighbours-volumes and getting-evicted-volumes.

Yea, it'll do small gigs as well generally from reports from a friend of mine who got one.

He had to upgrade to a JC120 because they started playing venues that were bigger.

So, for apartment etc, 100% fine
