Oh, hey, I went to watch the Norwegian screening of "One more time with feeling" on december 1. Damn. That was a heavy watch. Incredibly beautiful, very raw, deep adjectives. Pretty sure Skeleton Tree is my album of the year, especially after the context of the documentary.

Without the film I thought it was a good album, but in the film it became something much better. Wonderful movie.

Still haven't seen the film (and this is not exactly the same because it's a doc), but I've been thinking about the relationship between visual queues/storytelling and music quite a bit lately. The easy thinking is that you can "get away" with a lot less if you have another complementary medium, and that sort of squares with the use of 'cinematic' as a musical adjective (well that and there's usually soaring instrumentation and/or pretty massive reverb).
