I also had a BE-5 at that time.

Re: I am going to pedal hell.
My main sound a long time ago (more than 20 years) was MT-2 into GE-7. And I sounded so heavy.
I also had a BE-5 at that time.

Yea, the one thing I would not describe it as having a lack of balls.
LP into it and a clean or dirty amp it's instant living up to its nape.

Damn it. UGH! I've been wanting one for awhile and now you say it has balls, which is a sexual innuendo I assume for it being sexy, which makes me horny for it. Now I have to buy it. God damn you.

Oh, I'm not sure it's sexy per se, but it certainly brings the meat to the yard.

Re: I am going to pedal hell.
I have two and love both. One modded and one unmodded.
It's got a lot of good sounds in it, but is insanely hard to dial in. Exactly the wrong pedal to sell to millions of kids wanting to sound like whatever shitty metal band is ruling pop radio at the time.
If anyone needs celebrity credibility to enjoy a pedal - the first few (all?? dunno) Crowbar albums were just Metal Zone, gain on zero, volume on max, eq doing whatever, into a JCM800.

Hasn't been very hard thusfar, but I'm used to dual parametrics on my preamp already!

I think I may have to leave this one stock, just because.

I've heard hm2 mods by anarchy audio which sound sweet but haven't explored the other varying mods much.

Re: I am going to pedal hell.
I never got why the MT-2 has such a bad reputation, and the HM-2 has this pseudo culd status
I'm not even that into metal, but for the silly prices these go for on the used market, I see myself picking picking one up sooner or later, just for the hell of it
The fact that is scores so bad on the credibility scale and it so available, cheap and unsexy, only makes it more attractive to me

Re: I am going to pedal hell.
The HM-2 was amazing for its time - keep in mind the pricing was roughly flipped. Used HM-2s were $20-30, plentiful, and the then-new MT-2 was $80-100 or more.
Formerly cheap stuff gets used by bands who tell people what they were using, then the price goes up!

I don't think it's that polished.
