32" scale p bass ripoff, plays OK-ish (for £50, not like, actually well
) but as you may be able to see from this first pic it's going fretless because I want a passive fretless and the frets on this neck are garbage.Planning to clean it up, put on a new guard, sand the neck down a bit and put a coating on it because I don't like how it feels.
Once I get that done and set up right so it plays OK I'll think about changing out the electronics.
Aiming to end up with a nice bass I'll actually want to play for probably about as much as a decent squier would cost in the first place plus hours of work. Lol but it will be fun, it's my first big instrument project.
Intending to update this thread as I make progress and to ask for advice if I need any!
Suggestions for extra fun are welcome, I tend to like simple instruments but all wacky ideas will be at least considered.
Any input on pickguard colour? I was initially thinking gold anodized but it looks like they cost nearly much as or more than the bass... So tortoiseshell is my second thought.
