Re: New Pedals x4
Nah I mean output. I.e. have the output act as a regular expression pedal would (i.e. a 10k/25k/50k one), rather than send a 0-5V control voltage. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something fundamental. However, I'm fairly sure that's part of what the Broadband does: converts CV into an expression output.
I assume neither the Lightning Wave pedals nor the Signal Beam has this functionality built-in? (expression out) If so, that's all good cause I need to get a broadband for my Goatkeeper anyway.

Ahhh, that's a little electronically tricky. Just in my opinion, I'd rather not go down that route you basically have to make a couple voltage controlled resistors. It could maybe work with LDRs but they're wildly variable and digital pots aren't an option.
I usually use or design gear that is capable of taking an expression or CV input in the same jack. A lot of gear out there will do this but you have to check the specs, older gear won't do this so much though.

Yeah I'm only bothering doing a conversion because some of my existing stuff doesn't take CV, one of them is 3v, one of them is 8V, another I want to get is 10V, another I maaaay want to get is -5->5V, but they all take accept expression inputs.
The only ones I have that are 0->5 are my Chase Bliss pedals. I realize that 0-5 is the normal standard that usually most pedals adhere to. Too many special snowflakes and non-cv-compatables in my arsenal though.

I'll keep it as a separate thing in a small enclosure and just sell it for cheap.

I wanted to suggest that but you already had this built and settled in a PCB and it seemed like a complete redesign to fit it in.

Ah yip fair enough. If this adapter works out as well as I hope you should be able to get CV working with all of those.mysteryroach wrote:Yeah I'm only bothering doing a conversion because some of my existing stuff doesn't take CV, one of them is 3v, one of them is 8V, another I want to get is 10V, another I maaaay want to get is -5->5V, but they all take accept expression inputs.

Really freaking stoked to get my little limbo! Kind of an impulse purchase but I'm just getting progressively more excited about it!

Dude once you get to know it....
Also ask for the manual (if Jon hasn't provided one) makes things click easier.

I was looking at the manual for the limbo ii, trying to get my head around the arp mode and what not.

Sorry bud, I should have known that.
Wasn't sure if you wanted the proto compact or we're gonna wait for the full meal deal.
I need to play with mine more.
I've just been dirt riffing lately.
Which one are you getting?

If yours is the production model and has all the revisions, you're going to love the modulation options.
That's all I'm gonna say.

Re: New Pedals x4
Can you tell me what size enclosure the Thing and Signal Beam are. Also, where is the TRS/TS/midi jacks located? (i.e. top/bottom/side) If you know if they can accommodate pancake jacks that'd be a little bit useful to know too, but not of vital importance.
My pedalboard and all my cables are finally here, and I'm making paper cutouts of all the pedals on my future-buy-list+wishlist so I can plan for their placement. Would just help for deciding on an arrangement of my current pedals.

Re: New Pedals x4
Got the manual sent away. If anyone else needs one flick me a message. I just have to build another unit up to test everything in it - think I got some controls backwards in the manual.
Signal Beam 1590BB - 4.4 x 2.38
The TRS are all top mounted. The MIDI (DIN5) jack comes out the left side (couldn't fit it in the top obviously).
I think it would depend on how big the pancake is. The jacks are all fairly tight. I can use my right angle patches no problem, but maybe a big pancake would have trouble. A small pancake should be fine. That probably doesn't help much... but I measured 21mm between the centre of two jacks.
