wow :joy: but it's still kind of a lot, seeing as the dist knob is set to zero
I think if it went lower.. does it clean up any with the guitar volume?
Yeah I know, but I think I set it to a quite hot bridge pup in that one. Cleans up a little but it's def not a light OD in any way haha. Maybe it works better on bass for that purpose

I really want to get a driving notion, just because they've always seems really interesting, but I think it might be backwards of what I need. I need more help with clarity in the low strings as they tend to muddy up and distort faster than the high strings. Idk. Might get one and just try it out. Or another mini... I'm starting to develop a really lame habit of buying and selling the same pedals repeatedly...

Driving Notion seems to be really picky about what amp it goes with. I got it when I was just using a Fender Pro Jr. and it sounded really awesome with that, then I sold that amp and got a DRRI and it went from a really nice clangy/fuzzy OD to this kind of crazy bass heavy behemoth that sounded really cool but not like it did before, wound up selling it because of that. I have a AC15 now and was thinking about getting one again actually.. :erm: Maybe the 6v6 kind of amps are kinda flubby in the bass, they usually have a loosey goosey kinda feel

I need to watch some demos of the Magick I! Just saw it while looking at their website.

I had a mini and am trying to remember how I liked it. I think I loved it, but wanted the money for something else... maybe that's what I'll do again.

The J. Rockett WTF (or Hooligan) can produce crackly textures at lower gain levels, as can various Harmonic Percolator clones. Is this for guitar, bass, or both?

It's for a downtuned guitar, hoping to make it fit better in my normal guitar rig. I play about 60% in E standard, 40% in C standard. I'm looking for a pedal to make my amp sound nice with both. Currently the low one is a little too muddy or something.

I have guitars in Eb standard, drop C, Drop A, and drop E, and am able to get decent tones with the pedals I mentioned, though the WTF tends to receive other gain better than it can boost (unless in one of its more "traditional" OD settings). Harmonic Percolator variants (other than the somewhat-vanilla Catalinbread Karma Suture) typically have plenty of gain on their own and can interact in a somewhat-unpredictable manner with other gain sources at more extreme settings.
