With this in mind, does anybody know if Chase Bliss pedals conform to a particular enclosure standard - such that I could potentially organize a separate backplate to stick velcro to? That way I can keep the original backplate with the pretty sparkles in tact.

Just might be worth going the extra mile to protect the paintwork on these. I had a Spectre that someone did a poor job of removing velcro from (in order to stick hook velcro on it instead) - and it damaged the paint underneath it.

I managed to remove it cleanly using a hairdryer, but the backplate gets awful hot, so wonder if using that same hairdryer-method will be unsuitable for a hand-painted one? (i.e. will it melt the paint or some shit? Or cause it to bond with the adhesive?)

Doubt I'll ever sell it. But may as well try to protect it from damage anyway. Will prob just stick velcro to it. Figured I'd ask though.

it's called a 125B enclosure

CBA has their own molded, so I can't guarantee that it's a pop in replacement, but a little grinding should do the trick

Seems like you can't order backplates separately, and can't source the 125Bs locally in NZ either. So it's probably not worth getting an entire enclosure shipped and scrapping the rest (not only cost, but save the planet etc. don't wanna be wasteful). From mammoth electronics it's $27USD total with shipping + currency conversion costs and maybe offshore service margins.

I may just shove the velcro on it and deal with it later if I have to - and chances are I won't have to.

Just get a slice of steel and drill 4 holes in it. Or aluminum and cut it with tin snips (normal scissors work too). Use washers/spacers if you want to cut a little big.

a friend here unscrews the backplates of his pedals, wraps in paper, screws back on, sticks velcro to paper.
You might have to experiment with the cutting to size and tightening the paper round the backplate. or indeed with material,
But my friend swears by it.

In my experience, people don't care about velcro if the pedal is rare enough.

Source: I sold a Sonic Crayon I had put velcro on for stupid money.
