has anyone ever really blown an amp by using boost or fuzz pedals through the fx loop. Logically preamp tubes would easier to implode by fx force from the front side then a power tube. right? or is a limiter of sorts a food idea?

Re: effects loop/boost and fuzz myths
I agree with Devi, purely coincidence. The amp probably had issues before the effects were added.
Usually tubes fail due to shorts, voltage spikes, shock or just plain old age. I did see a couple break when an amp was run for two hours and then carried outside into 20 degree weather right after it was unplugged, but all the other broken ones I’ve come across were shock related.
Now I do believe effects sound like crap when run through an effects loop. Well reverb is an exception, because technically it is a loop.
Btw: the addition of a cap and a couple of jacks, would allow you to run effects in parallel to the reverb tank. Also plugging in a speaker of the correct impedance (4 or 8 ohm for Fenders) will give you a low power single ended amp.

"Is that safe?"
"nope, I'm going to destroiy my $1000 amp, and 14 pedals. on purpose."
