Recently sold my 2nd Nemesis (bought it the second time as I was finally able to use the App in my ass backwards part of the world). For ambient wankery, it's tits. For standard delay engines + more, I actually preferred the sound of my Timebender. Plus, I could never get the mix right on the Nemesis, even with the alternate mix setting in the App. Fantastic delay, though and I'd still recommended it to most people.

I couldn't care less about the App/tone print kind of thing, but if the Nemesis can do digital and lo-fi dirt as well, it's getting interesting... I'm always worried that a do-it-all machine might lack character or personality...

I mean, you should. I was also too cool 4 school b4 trying it out and was surprised by how useful it is. Also, some of my favorite lo-fi engines/sounds are in the App, so it's worth loading at least once and slapping them on the main unit. Then again, I was impressed by the Nem without even touching the App. Just depends on what you want out of it. Also "do it all machine = must mean it lacks character or personality" is an illogical viewpoint.

Again, the Nemesis didn't work out for me and I also didn't see the point in owning 2 multi delays (with my Timebender), so I sold it and have been super happy with my current setup. Just don't let your stated worries get in the way of something that could be a great tool for your music.

Thanks for the input. But it's more basic than that for me: I like to use a specific machine. I like to work with its limitations. For me, working with a computer to feed pedals kills the magic. But it's just my opinion/taste.
And do it all = lack of character is a classic. Makes a lot of sense to me, the more you design something to encompass everything, the greater the chance you'll avoid anything too drastic... Look at Industrialectric for instance, their shit is so personal/peculiar, I don't think they can be considered as "do it all machines".
That being said, my mind is pretty set on getting a Nemesis... I'm pretty sure it will be a great pairing with my more straight to the point analog delays.

I had that perspective of the App before I used it, but really I just sat down once to check out the hidden engines that couldn't fit on the stock unit. You can then tweak via the knobs and never worry about the App again. The workflow can be as complicated or as simple as you need it to be.

Personally, I totally get what you mean with the Industrial Electric example, but I wouldn't be looking at a multi-purpose unit like the Nemesis to scratch that particular itch. (Although, a multi-effect unit like the BitQuest has one of my favorite delays ever! <3). I typically like having both types around. And really, sometimes it's nice to have a tool that's the jack-of-all-trades. Speaking from experience, the search for that extra 10% of character or whatnot can be futile/expensive and is best left to the endless Groundhog Day participants over at TGP.

Unless we're talking fuzzes, that is.

Well today is the day I'm gonna go try and all the silly machines you guys recommended. Lo-Fi digital delay isn't too necessary afterall I have 3 boss PS-2 one is before the dirt. Although I will check out the nemesis but I'm usually too cool for school when it comes to the hype machine, especially since when I play live, I rarely ever want to fuck with settings. Most things stay tapped down haha. Although the toneprint thing sorta interests me as I sometimes find it easier to work with these type of pedals when I fuck with it on a computer like my pitchfactor

BUT Ill give it the benefit of the doubt. Im sure its a mad dope delay. Im most interested in the maude and a couple cheap offers. Though I have a line on a 80tape Limbo III. I might decide to get two and sell the one I use less.
