Dig the look, but that price, ouch. I mean, some of the Bilts aren't much more and you've still got customizing options. Definitely breaks my gear price rules. My hands may be a little too large for the neck too (*insert Trump reference*). Still cool to see guitar companies are starting to change up to accommodate different physiques, I know a few female friends are excited after some of their previous complaints about baseball necks.

Tried one today, it was pretty amazing. Not exactly my thing, but a really well-thought out guitar. It's also way more comfortable than it looks, and the raw rosewood neck was dreamy. Trem was a super-sensitive superstrat style; if you're used to Offset or Bigsby whammies, it's probably not going to feel right, as getting that classic half-step down bend requires a *very* light touch. I'm also not a big mini-hum fan, but these sounded quite good, and it's versatile. Pickups were hotter than I expected, but had a fair amount of the quack that those pickup types usually have. Neck was a sort of medium profile, not a shredder thin neck or a boatneck Tele or Paul style. Finish looked really good in person, and it was pretty flawless, construction-wise. Def a unique instrument, and really, really well executed.

After going blind looking at Fender Katanas all night, this morning I saw that the Starry Night finish has made its way to a few retailers (Sweetwater, GearNutz & Madame Dubaldo's so far). Here 'tis:

Every time this thread gets bumped I search the price of these and get sad. I could get a complete custom build for two grand, why would I buy this if I was going to spend that much on a guitar (which I have no intention of doing)?

Still want it though..

Paul Rudd should've used the St. Vincent model for this:
