I doubt it, that kind of thing will make you have to take a trip to the free cliqueChankgeez wrote:monkeydancer wrote:tD.o.S. wrote:I'm a big fan of knob twiddling.monkeydancer wrote:wD.o.S. wrote:I'm a big fan of knob twiddling.monkeydancer wrote:sD.o.S. wrote:I'm a big fan of knob twiddling.Did she really say that?monkeydancer wrote:sD.o.S. wrote:I'm a big fan of knob twiddling.

It's not a question of liking as much as giving up control, I'm a pretty DIY person.monkeydancer wrote:Wish I could do this. I love playing music but god I fucking hate mixing and producing it. Sitting at a computer twiddling knobs fucking sucks (guess who's recording a lot at the moment and both loves and hates it...).Blackened Soul wrote:ok.. now take that feel an factor in to the feeling about 7 records... I hate/love/hate/ all the reverbs I use anymore and the way I adjust them to the point where I have handed off 2 albums worth of material to someone else to see what they come up with production wiseD.o.S. wrote:Ugh. I know that feel. I did a whole record that has the Misty Cave and the Echo Degrader all over it and now I can't do anything similar.

That's almost all I do with Koori Kuma, it's all direct recorded, I think our colab was the first time in years I actually used any outboard gear other than dirt pedals.

I've been too distracted to post those great videos of Scratch in the Jamaican Studios but I'm getting there, I swear.
On a related note I convinced some of my black metal friends to dub out some of their recordings. Excited to get my Tenhorned Beast on.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
What's the usual discount expectations for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, with big retailers like Musicians Fiend (and builders too)?
(I posted about this before) I'm thinking about buying a Roland 404 sampler - some folks recommended buying used. I stalked a couple of units on Ebay, but didn't win/forgot to bid. Now Black Friday is coming up. Is a 20% discount typical? Because I might just buy a new unit. It would come with all the stuff included, and I'd feel more confident that it was fully functional. I've never even tried one of these samplers before, and I'm worried if I buy something used, by the time I figure out something's not working correctly, it's too late.
I look forward to the Black Friday thread, too.

Overdrives....why do people keep them in front of fuzzes? I just tried it and it just boosts the fuzzes. Putting them post-fuzz adds texture as well as boost. Much better. /minirant

Some fuzzes get more splattery and gnarly when boosted, it can also shape the fuzz if the overdrive has some eq or a tone stack.UglyCasanova wrote:Overdrives....why do people keep them in front of fuzzes?
