This sums up my feelings on DoS experiencing CoL and JC.
Saw Cult play an enormous set in Stockholm earlier in the year and it was crazy good, but I'll be damned if Mariner isn't one of the best things they've written. And Julie Christmas... never seen her live but can only imagine how rad it must have been.

So I sort of posted about this in another thread, but gonna chime in here too.

Went to the Stockholm show. It was amazing. CoL are one of my all time favourite bands. I've never listened to stuff Julie Christmas has done before but thought it was one of the best live vocal performances (at least in heavy music) I've ever seen. She really feels unique both voice and stage persona wise, or at least not like a copycat of millions of other metal/hardcore/heavy singers. Sort of like a Björk of heavy music. So cool. I brought my gf to see them. She's not a big music listener and hasn't listened to "heavy" stuff more than Linkin' Park's hybrid theory when it came out, but she absolutely loved it!

As far as CoL records go, Somewhere Along The Highway is in my all time top 3, but I thought Vertikal was one of their weakest efforts ever. Mariner however, has recieved A LOT more attention than I initially thought I'd give it and will deffo end up on my top 10 of the year.
