Teach me about aluminum neck Kramers
Due to unforseen circumstances my Millimetric dream has been sunk. this leaves me with a bit of cash and i was thinking on dropping it on an aluminum Kramer. However I sure as shit cant find one locally to try out. Anythink i should know going in? How heard the necks compared to a 335?

Neck dive is a bitch.
Zero nut is...erm...unique.
One of the best "sitting down" guitars I own...as it's probably my heaviest guitar.
I've seen some where the neck is loose in the pocket, which makes them less resonant/lively. I've wanted an earlier model than the one I have as the neck joint evolved. Mine is fine, but the earlier models seems better engineered [over built] to me.
It's a pretty flat radius and a little wider at the nut than my other guitars. Almost feels like a classical.
I love it. I almost sold mine a year ago, and I am grateful that I didn't. It's got a vibe and sound all it's own. It's amazing how resonant the necks really are and what they add to your sound.

Re: Teach me about aluminum neck Kramers
A friend of mine had a 450G for a while, and it stayed in my apartment for about 1.5 months while he was moving to the other side of the country.
I really liked that guitar. And I see DMZ 2000s popping up a couple of times a year on the second hand market here in Norway for cheaper than they go for on eBay/Reverb.
So I hope to pick one up one day as an addition to my EGC.

I had a 250g for a while, and it was an excellent guitar. Like Hyphen said, lots of neck dive, but also lots of awesome overtones. It sounded killer. Really rich and lush. Big fat neck on it too. My band shares bills with the guy that I sold it to, and it sounds fantastic every time I hear it. Check one out if you get the chance.

Them's good guitars. A good strap will help with the neck dive.

I have a 250b bass. Its super fun but it did have some problems.
The pickup crapped out.
Mine needs a fret job and from all accounts techs charge an arm and a leg to work on the ebonal fretboard.
Get a wide padded strap!

Yeah, those fretboards are the same material as bowling balls I think. Probably really easy to chip...

my main guitar is an 81 xkg-20 (the last kinda budget aluminum neck guitar they made), I love it! The body is a lot lighter/smaller than the earlier models and I don't find it terribly neck divey? I recommend em but try before you buy and I wouldn't pay the going reverb rates, they sell cheaper locally when they pop up.

Re: Teach me about aluminum neck Kramers
A few weeks ago I had my first Kramer aluminium neck experience. I tried the awesome looking 8-string bass XL-8 at a customer's home. I didn't like it at all. If I should ever come across a Kramer 6-string guitar, I will check it out to see what's the hype about it.
