I know!!! It was the weirdest thing. All this time they talked about how unique and shit it sounded and they played for 5 seconds. Made me mad

Yeah I found that annoying... watched the whole of the fake scripted "discovery" on the promise of cool sounds then basically none..

eyyyyyyyyyy the SR-16 is pretty fucking amazing! had to spend a couple of hours figuring out the menu diving, but holy hell this thing can do so much. should have tried it out way sooner. not too stoked with the stock sounds, but that's what Pretty Years is for
and as much as I like it it, it really intensified my machinedrum gas

i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Why would I get an SR-16 these days when there's a lot of software drum machines?
I'm just trying to not spend my money on more hardware here... but I don't think I could resist if I see one at my local CL or in a pawn shop for a good price.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
workflow mostly, I guess. I haven't found a software drum machine that I've jived with and hate working on my computer. especially programming drums.. assigning groups and the step editor is what pulled me in. really hard to pass up for $65~

Anyone run a two amp setup, not as proper stereo, just a clean and a dirty amp? I'm perpetually torn between being a simpleton and appreciating more complex things. I love how my guitar sounds into my dirty amp and my clean amp. In my mind they're just better together. Only downside I see is having to lug two amps.

I do kinda? I run a Butcher on the high gain channel and a V4 with a bit of power tube breakup. They're usually both on at the same time, but sometimes I use the V4 as a "clean channel"

Word. That's pretty much my plan. Not do any switching between the two, just have them both on all the time. Do you have any phase issues or lame stuff like that? I have a Morley A/B/Y box I plan on using, but it doesn't do phase correction or anything

Nah not really, I use a radial which helps with the phase thing, and both heads have ground switches to flip polarity.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
What chorus would be good for tabletop noise stuff? I have some sounds that need to be... sweetened? (thickened? But not octave'd) If not chorus, then what else is there?
Small, light, cheap, versatile, no added background noise, those are all good features.

It's awesome as long as you can deal with only 3 voices.Eivind August wrote:Oh man, I should not have watched those demos of the Volca FM.
