I tried doing a search for my original thread, but nothing came back, so here's a new thread! Woo hoo!
I'm touring next month! I can still use a load of help with a few extra dates, so I'm posting again to see if anyone on ILF is in the areas I am targeting. The project in question is my 'solo' gig, which for this tour will consist of me on harmonium and vocals, 2 live synth players, and lots of electronic percussion that is triggered on the fly to allow for improv. The style of music is a type of call and response, musical chanting in the sanskrit language called Kirtan, mashed together with a sort of darkwave, techno, trip-hop... thing. It's not really like anything else, but if you think Dead Can Dance, Peter Murphy, and early Delerium, you're probably in the right place. Joy Division covers and old southern spirituals are not out of place in the show. It's eccentric but not gimmicky. You can hear bits of my record, which was released last year, at myspace (remember myspace?).
We will pretty much play anywhere that has a PA. We like Yoga Studios, Coffee Shops, Bookstores, Night Clubs, Basements & Living Rooms... seriously. We're not looking to make a ton of money. If we can be put up for the night and given a meal, and there's a place to sell CDs, we're good to go. If a little money comes our way as well from the door/donation box... all the better.
Here's what's in store as of now:
June 4th - New York City - Integral Yoga Institute
June 5th - Kitchari Kirtan - Cambridge MA
June 6th - Venue TBA - Providence RI <- This gig will also feature projects from fellow ILF-ers JRMY and BIGCHIEFBC. An ILF member in every act! ILF REPRAHZENTIN!! WORD!
June 7th - Need a show! New York State, Mass, and Connecticut Areas Speak up!
June 8th - Ahimsa Yoga - Ithaca NY
June 9th - Shakti Yoga - Buffalo NY
June 10th - Need a show! Pittsburgh, PA - I'm looking at you! Morgantown WV is not out of the question either!
June 11th - The Center - Harrisonburg VA
June 12th - Hometown show! Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar, Charlottesville VA
If you're between VA and NYC and think you can set us up with something before June 4th, don't be shy either.
YOU GUYS ROCK. Do me a solid and help me fill in some of these blank spots!

Man, had you said you were gonna visit MD, I would have suggested Sonar or the Ottobar here in Baltimore.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

I don't know if it's in the right direction (I suck with directions), but if you wanted to hit Western MA on the 7th, you might want to touch base with Flywheel, in Easthampton: http://www.flywheelarts.org/
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.
