i had to ship a rack mount power amp to poland.

guy wanted me to use FEDEX

the shipping quote i got from FEDEX (for a 40 pound box, 2 space 19" rackmount power amp) was $760 :thumb:

i told the guy for $760, i could get a roundtrip ticket to Poland, and bring the amp with me as luggage :lol:

UPS is just as bad.......

US Postal service is usually the most cost effective solution to international shipping, from my experience

Whenever I'm browsing eBay and a seller ships "UPS only", I don't even bother looking. Fucking ripoff merchants.

seriously, that's ridiculous. i sent a 9lb typewriter to stanimal a couple of weeks ago and it cost me $20. Use USPS, not UPS or FedEx.

are the charges different to and from certain countries? that could explain it.
