Rush Booster and Fangs Metal Distortion are new. They updated the circuits and different parts, added or reduced some pots (inclusive parameter ranges of them) and added true bypass switching.

I read that last night, but I didn't share it because it didn't make any fucking sense to me. How do you do an analog update of a digital pedal? ---Because you'd actually need to go back to the original source of inspiration, which wouldn't be Behringer circuits. You can't just swap out some resistors and pots and voila! digital becomes analog. If they went back to the earliest source material, then they'd actually be updating classic effects (like the Small Stone, VB-2, Memory Man, et cetera). These new pedals wouldn't actually have very much to do with their Behringer predecessors at all.

The main overview demo...It's like they tried hard NOT to sell any of those pedals. That guy had no idea what to do with a fuzz pedal. Clean tone was horrible to begin with, lot of effects demo'd in settings nobody would use, and a lot of bits had different effects at the time...Fail.

But even if they're rehoused behringers...They look better, should be a little less flimsy, they have top jacks...And they're cheap as fuck. I'm one of those dudes that DONT need a zillion switches and knobs on a something like a phaser, or whatever other effect you only use once in a while. So I actually really like the simplicity of this series. And did I mension I like the prices?

Most of the Behringer pedals are analogue clones, are they not?

I haven't seen any marketing materials or product descriptions for the VP300 or the VP-1, where the word analog is present. So it doesn't seem they tried to hide that those pedals aren't necessarily analog circuits. ---Of course to make a dirt pedal, you can strip those down to very few components, never needing any digital components. I wouldn't call them clones either, more like workalikes or derivatives (if they were part-by-part clones, they would cost a lot more).

Even when you consider the harmonious marriage of slave labor and 0.0003 cent components, it's nearly inconceivable to make all-analog modulation pedals for under $15. (remember the UV300 sold at $24.99, so it had to cost Behringer less than that to manufacture and distribute it). You're going to need digital ICs to supplement your circuit. It's certainly possible to have an analog-driven signal with digital control (see Chase Bliss, Empress, et cetera). Those are quite expensive pedals, though, in comparison to the many Asian-produced pedals, which are sometimes referred to as analog, when in reality, they rely on digital components to reintroduce noise that is meant to mimic analog technology.

---On one hand Tore seemed to be aiming for transparency, by saying they are an outgrowth of Behringer concepts, but he is simultaneously failing to touch on the fact that those hybridized Behringer circuits grew out of earlier designs. I found that to be an odd approach. He probably could have done more good in the eyes of consumers by saying the TC pedals are based on classic effects (which they are), rather than calling them updated Behringers. Or he could have called them new designs (*laughs* like much of the pedal industry does when it rehashes 35-year old circuits).

Ultimately I'm in camp with Midge. I don't care what they're based on or who revised the circuits. I'm more interested in cheap, but solid pedals that can complete an unfinished effects chain.

Even if most are rehoused/ reengineered Behringer pedals, the fact they are in better enclosures and TB makes them about - or less - than what one would pay for someone to rehouse the older Behringer pedals.

The guy from TC was answering everyones questions on FB about these and when asked if they were rehoused Behringers (made in Japan, super cheap), that was the one question not answered. Knew this was going to happen at some point.
