Got one these pups this week, really digging it so far.

I've been running mixes/loops through it in random mode. It's beautiful. The preamp is a thoughtful feature.

Little snip here with the settings pictured:

Looking forward to poking around more.

Yeah, I'm going to need an episode for the Foxtrot, as well as one for the OP-1 and Organelle.

Where do you guys like to put your Charlie Foxtrot in your chain? Does it work best placed before dirt, like with the Raptio/Possessed?
Hopefully I didn't already ask this question and forget about it. :picard:

Been messing with the charlie foxtrot while my friend plays cello through it. I find the threshold control and mix control to be kinda hard to dial in (partially because of the cello's signal). The mix just always seems to be too much or not enough and I would have preferred wet/dry volume I think (but it already had 5other knobs...so..i guess). Manual works well, but the triggering just didn't seem as dynamic as the judder.

To me, it seems like an after dirt thing most of the time...but could be neat before. The repeats, due to the triggering and mix, seem to get kinda lost sometimes.

That said, it is OK...but I think a boss dd-6 is kinda more fun overall.

The mix is most useful after noon, although past like 3:00 you might as well be at 100% wet. The Threshold works best at about 9:00 for me, that way you can hold back a little from triggering it with playing dynamics (on guitar anyway). I haven't messed with it beyond noon much. I still really like this pedal, and I haven't played a Judder or either of the MASF pedals mentioned, but I think the Catalinbread Csidman looks like it might be in the ballpark of the Foxtrot. Interested to try that one out and compare.

Here's a sample of a track I recorded where a drum sample is run through the Foxtrot once on each side with Duration and Pitch on random, Mix around 1:00, Threshold at 9:00, and I can't remember where the Size was, but it was pretty low:

My friend sent me a video of him running charlie foxtrot in parallel with the misty cave using the ls-2 and an rc3...i think there is some other switcher with a micro mixer in there. Pretty cool. He loops the fox trot and misty cave separately switching the looper to before and after the loops. He uses the volume control on the ls 2 to control the threshold on the foxtrot. Pretty neat way to sequence and create droney kinda backing tracks quick as he plays cello and sequences. Really well thought out little system.

I thought it was really good sounding but the video was hard to hear (phone video and amp turned down).

I think the ls2 is helping him trigger the foxtrot a lot

Just got this pedal and... I dunno. There's definitely some cool sounds in here, but I feel like overall it's hard to dial in sounds, and that I don't really understand how to use it yet. It feels like the mix knob is completely useless unless it's turned up all the way clockwise, or if it's set no lower than say 3:00. And I honestly don't get the Threshold knob-it seems pretty much pointless unless it's turned all the way (or almost all the way) counter clockwise. You turn the Threshold knob all the way clockwise, and you get no sound when the Mix is all the way up, so you have to back it off just to get any sound. And then you have to tap the footswitch again to hear the pedal's effect, which lasts for a short amount of time (determined by the duration knob setting, I guess). The effect ends, so you have to tap the footswitch again to engage the effect. What's the point? :idk:

The Pitch mode knob is really cool all throughout its range. I feel like the size knob works best kept in the left position, like 7:00-9.00, but as you turn it clockwise, it doesn't do much. There's definitely some very cool sounds in the pedal, but it feels more like a fucked up delay or modulation effect than a glitchy effect, a lot of the times. For instance, I can't seem to figure out how to get the constant glitch-machinery type sound in the beginning of this video:

Any tips?

*edit*-think I found the setting for that sound in the beginning of the video, and realize now that strumming really hard is crucial.

Anyone found any good settings used with dirt?

Sorry to bump this thread (love this pedal, by the way), but I wanted to comment about the Charlie Foxtrot's power requirements. It's pretty odd that the Malekko website states that it draws 50 mA, while proguitarshop claims 200 mA! I'm more inclined to believe the 200 mA claim, as my Foxtrot's a lot noisier with my Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus, than it is with my one spot. Any other Foxtrot users experience the same thing?

No, but I've had similar experience with other pedals, like the RM -1N and Echo Degrader. A lot of Seppukus act differently with different power supplies too. Embrace it. :p

Sorta new guy here, but really dig my Charlie! I agree, the Mix control is the toughest to tame and I would welcome a wider middle span, with a bit more nuance on the blend. Of course the Input Level interacts with the Mix as well as the Threshold, so it's all about the balance.

Glassy Charlie in long duration mode. Irritating? Interesting? Either way, I love wacking out with it.

Here's some simple solo looping using the whole shebang in meltdown mode. Definitely not something I'd take to a mainstream "tasty" sorta jam/gig! Fuzzes: Hooligan, with several assists from a Z Vex Fuzz Probe.

Here's a live-in-studio group collab, where Charlie makes quick visits, as well as my BitQuest Delay-Mode (clean) in pitch-jump, inside a EHX Chillswitch, with a little exped-reverse delay coming and going. Super fun. Fuzz(es) are a J. Rockett Hooligan into either my Magnetic FX White Atom, and/or DOD Looking Glass OD.
