Did research, it's essentially a mark III that's been stripped down of almost all features, and worth the same priced used because "rarity" so I guess there goes that.

interesting. i've never come across that before. it's probably pretty sweet run in a stereo rig.Inconuucl wrote:Did research, it's essentially a mark III that's been stripped down of almost all features, and worth the same priced used because "rarity" so I guess there goes that.
that said -- for that price you can snatch up the f100 (D.o.S.'s new sleeper amp a la SOVTEKS of yesteryear).

I've discovered most fuzzes are oscillating fuzz once you stack a boost or eq after them. Or use with a hollowbody electricPeteeBee wrote:I'd like to thank ILF for helping me learn the ways of oscillating and weirdness as key elements of my sound. My pedalboard is now entirely shaped around a base tone (delay into overdrive) and lots of things that can oscillate but don't have to. It's super grand fun!

Fuzz designed to oscillate seem to be less useful for how I like to roll; not so much controlling chaos as dynamically steering it with precision.
Harmonic Percolator is my fav 4L to get me there. It's a rare bird indeed, the only fuzz I've been able to run vocals through & not hate the results (at low input slider settings).

Only, you know, they're built like a Mesa, not like a Sovtek.

What are some decently priced Rotary Chorus pedals? They all seem to be way more than what I want to spend or kinda cheap looking. Thinking of maybe an Ibanez RC-99 or a Boss RT-20.
Chorus, Flange and Phase are cool but I don't get along with them well enough, Rotary just sounds the coolest to me.

Yeah -- quality, built in the USA and easy to swap tubes if needed. And switchable from 60w to 100w.D.o.S. wrote:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^odontophobia wrote:interesting. i've never come across that before. it's probably pretty sweet run in a stereo rig.Inconuucl wrote:Did research, it's essentially a mark III that's been stripped down of almost all features, and worth the same priced used because "rarity" so I guess there goes that.

Anyone messed with treble boosters much? I've been really considering trying one, but the Keeley is out of my price range and I haven't been able to find others to try. I want something to kick in to boost mids and highs and push my big muff/butcher harder.

Had a Sparkle Motion for a while and loved it, built myself a silicon rangemaster and enjoyed that a lot too. They're at their best pushing a cranked amp, I was never too impressed with the sound of a treble booster on a clean amp. They can sound pretty cool pushing pedals though so if that's what you want it might work for you. Not sure what the cheaper commercially available ones are at the moment to be honest.

I'm looking to pick up a hot rod deville 410 tomorrow off Clist for a good deal ($300). In good/great shape. Anyone care to talk me in or out of this? I've been looking for a mostly clean but rich sounding, loud combo for a while.

I just got my first one, recently. It's brilliant into a dirty amp. Quite a magical little box. Highly recommended.BoatRich wrote:Anyone messed with treble boosters much?

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I just bought a CB Fuzzrite with the big CB logo on. Not the best fuzz for ILF cred but I need something more traditional sounding than the Buzzz for the band I'm in right now. I demo'd it against a Merkin, which was cool, but just too much fuzzy destruction for my purposes. I have that covered. They're not updating the Fuzzrite circuit to go with the (slightly) altered graphics afaik.lordgalvar wrote:CB updated their Fuzzrite with the Moseley name on board haha. I wonder if it is the daughter, Fillmore, Ed Roman (I know he doesn't own the name, but he can't stay away), or something (I assume it's Semie's daughter or second wife (if she is still around) due to the Moseley name otherwise it would be Mosrite). Anyway, good to hear that they are trying to make right and they made some effort.
Edit: It is via Mark Moseley. That is a new one... interesting.
I figured it had to be someone outside of the Mosrite name (Dana is under that too/working with Fillmore...such a mess with that brand name).

Anybody have a banjo they are not using? I've been gassing for one but I need to spend some quality time with an new instrument before deciding if it's right for me.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I'm using a Fender Blues DeVille that my other guitarist basically gave to me in exchange for me fixing it and giving him some pedals. I really like it. I want to get a mojo amp, but given the amount of time I'd actually get to play the thing I can't justify it right now. I'm still figuring out how to dial in the EQs and the more I learn about it the more I like it. I only use the clean channel FWIW. For $300 I'd hit it hard.PeteeBee wrote:I'm looking to pick up a hot rod deville 410 tomorrow off Clist for a good deal ($300). In good/great shape. Anyone care to talk me in or out of this? Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I've been looking at electric XII strings for a while now. The Danelectro's have lost almost a 100€ since the last time I've looked around. So I went back to videos. And I found this previously unseen gem of a video review.
