What effect is this?

Got bored with the whole genre ages ago, but not of some of the sounds and effects. Anyway, I'm willing to bet that reverse delay in the intro comes from a DD-5.
I know I asked this here a zillion times, but if anyone has another idea, or just knows of other pedals that can do that particular type of reverse effect...Let's hear it :snax:

Pretty sure he uses an EHX Mem Man with Harazai and an Eventide Space.

Not too long ago I gas'd for a MMH. I even think there's a thread about it that accidentally popped up on the first page again.

Anyway, if anyone can confirm the MMH can do that exact reverse thing, consider my gas resurected.

CT5 will do that—it's pretty much my favorite setting. Mode 1, usually turn the direction to the reverse side, somewhere between 10 and 11 (IIRC—I do this by feel) where I get an octave sound or just a little bit off for warble. Then I usually put the length at one of the medium to long settings, like 1 or 2 I'd say. Adjust mix and feedback to taste. Of course you can also find the octave on the other side and it'll sound more like a regular tape delay.

It's kind of a super crude/weird delay, not too precise, but I've never found myself wanting more from it—it's such an awesome, beautiful sound.

Damn. Move over mmh gas, welcome ct5 gas  I like the fact that its compact, and apparantly does useable as well as more unconventional stuff. Dont like the price tag so much though :/

Nemesis with the Neuro app lets you make it whatever you want it to be. You can have reverse delay with warble, attack cut, distortion, filter the highs and lows, add sample rate reduction, filter sweeps, wow+flutter, tremolo, pitch shift, pan etc etc etc

everytime i start wanting the smmh again i look at my pedalboard and realize i've got a ct5 AND a particle

there was something special about the decay knob in the reverse mode on the smmh though, haven't found anything similar to that almost anywhere. the ct5 does a great reverse btw.
Yeah I'm finally getting a Particle tomorrow! Been counting the days til the UPS truck arrives... I'm very much looking forward to combining the two. :p

The Ct5 was a weird pedal for me at first; I always loved it but wasn't sure if it was something I'd actually use. Then I stumbled upon these almost trad sounding delay settings, and a reverse that doesn't sound weirdly canned like most of them do to my ears. I also love that I can't precisely adjust the time, and I never miss it... I just have fun and play.

As tempting as the CT5, Time Factor and Nemesis look...I'm a man of small means, I'm without a band at the moment, let alone a remotely succesful one. So the smmh would probably be the only realistic option here. And even that is a bit overkill for me, I bet I'd always stick to hand full of modes/settings and never use most of the other tricks :idk:

You've probably spent more money buying inferior stuff and flipping it. Might as well save up now that you're not in a band and there's no rush. That way you have a delay for all occasions instead of having to get a new one whenever you want "that" sound.

Yeah sometimes it makes sense to save up and wait on a good deal for something you know you'll get a lot of use out of.

Yeah that's a ligit point I guess. It's just that I'm not quite convinced that a pedal that costs 5 times as much as the cheap alternative, will also last 5 times as long on my pedalboard :idk:
So far most of the 'inferior' stuff I bought was just a little more limited, less features/knobbies/tricks/modes/etc...Which is mostly okay since I'm not THAT into glitchy avant garde noise or whatever :idk: And I nearly always manage to flip my pedlols for at least the same as what I paid.

The "less is mor"' thing mostly applies to dirt and modulation though, when it comes to delay it WOULD make sense for me to look beyonde the usual analog w/ modulation route. I could actually flip a couple unused peds to fund the most part of whatever a used ct5/nemesis would cost me :excellent:
