So I just scored a vintage B&K dyna jet 606 tube tester. Everything works but it has been in storage for a while. I'd like someone to go over it and calibrate. Who offers this service? Thanks
Charlie

Re: Tube tester calibration
buy a new tube and test it. if it tests new, your tester is calibrated, if it doesn't test new it's [the tube] either bad from the factory which would not be surprising, your tester killed the tube, or the tester isn't calibrated/functioning. best bet is to find someone else with a functioning tester and simply test the same tube on both testers. f you get the same ratings on both testers. yours is calibrated. that's how i checked mine. i compared it with someone else's, got the same ratings on every test. not many people around that know how to service these things and a lot of them were built from kits and there's no "calibration" just underspec'd components that are worn out and need to be replaced. in that case a good amp tech could probably help you.
