Heavy gauge strings.
Hi, I've been searching for a while now but with no luck.
Ever since I started to tune down to drop A on my 6-string, I've used these GHS 11-70 strings.
I've now starting go all the way down to Drop F(Conan, Bongripper etc.) and I've had to purchase GHS 11-70's and 13-XX stringsets to combine.
Is there any brand out there making like 13-70 or even heavier, 13-74?
a possibility that I've understood is to buy a 7/8/9-stringed guitar set and just throw away the 1-3 brightest ones, but in that case; is there anyone here that can recommend a specific set?
I figured this might be the best place to come!
Thanks brothers and sisters!

dunlop's 8 string light set? you could go 17-74. that would totally meet your requirements.

http://store.kaliumstrings.com/
kalium are great. order a custom set that will give you the tension you want. i use em on my baritone. if you order two sets it works out to like 10 bucks a set after shipping but they last really well. my current set is getting old and crusty but they still sound great.

Could go with D'Addario baritone - https://smile.amazon.com/DAddario-EXL15 ... ne+strings (14-68)
or their 8 string set, which would give you 17-74 - https://smile.amazon.com/DAddario-EXL14 ... tring+sets

I've not tried them yet, but I've heard good things about Stringjoy.com
You can make custom sets, wound or plain third, and once you get the combination you like you can set up a subscription where they send the set every one, two, or three months.

Funny -- I was on their website yesterday but didn't see anything about the customer sets. That's cool. Maybe need to check them out.CyaNitrate wrote:I've not tried them yet, but I've heard good things about Stringjoy.com

Re: Heavy gauge strings.
Depends on scale length a bit. I had a crazy set on a 7 string tuned in open C with a G on the seventh it worked great so I transfer that to a B standard 6 string and the 3rd string worked great for tension but stopped being musical sounding bc it wasnt able to oscillate overtones.

Re: Heavy gauge strings.
I use Ernie Ball Baritone strings.
They're 13-72. And relatively cheap.
