MusicMan HD130

Post by dantheman »

Do any of you bros have any experience with these? I might be able to pick one up locally for $700 with the matching 4x12 cab, is that a decent price? Are they super loud? Decent for bass and guitar? Decent verb? Thanks for any help buddies.

i have the head and the 212 combo. they're loud and great for guitar, reverb & tremolo are both good. not sure i'd wanna use them for bass though.
w/ the 412 i'd say that's a good deal.

Not too long ago they could be find for about half that...
But I guess nowadays its no longer a secret that these amps are more than just a poor man's fender. Pretty sure $700 for a good condition half stack would be considered a great deal.

I have the 75 112 combo. In all the time I've had it, I haven't considered using another amp.
We're on a road to nowhere. Come take a ride.

The One Thirty is one of the heads I'm wanting the most. There is one on used market here in NO for $800 (head only) so 700 with the cab seems like a good deal to me.

I've got a HD 130, no reverb though. I really like that amp a lot. Great, clean pedal platform. You can jump the channels.

I use it for bass - no problem, it's loud.
Just take notice that you have a 4/8 ohm switch and the two jacks for cabs are in series, so two 4 Ohm cabs is fine, two 8 Ohm cabs not.

I don't know about today's prices, I paid $300 for just the amp - but that was years ago and seemed to be quite a deal/steal.

DO IT!

I had one for years. It sounded great and was loud as hell. Whether it's good for bass will depend on the cabinet. It certainly has plenty of power.
