I have an Eclipse mk I from them, and although it uses something pretty silly as far as a wall wart (18VAC at 1000ma or whatever) it's made practicing [edit: mostly guitar] at low volumes really bearable for me. Nice low end oomph even out of a small cheapo bass practice amp at low volumes.

I'd love to try it out,
but it would have to be pretty awesome for me to have it on my pedalboard, since I would have to use an extra power supply and not the one under my board.

I was. I haven't picked one up because of cash, but from what I can tell, if one is running a power amp only type of setup, this looks like a fairly viable pre.
There was a doom roomer who actually had something by these guys and quite liked it, but I just woke up and am struggling to remember who that was.
