Pedals for a Cure -- auction to benefit PCDH19 Epilepsy

Post by Bartman_PDX »

Hello!

I just wanted to announce that we are getting ready to hold an auction of very special pedals to benefit the PCDH19 Alliance (http://www.pcdh19info.org) in November (Epilepsy Awareness month).

Last year a similar auction was held and raised a good bit of money for the Alliance. The account of that auction can be found here.

EDIT: THE AUCTIONS ARE LIVE for one week starting today (11/16) and running through the morning of 11/23. They can be found here:

http://www.ebay.com/usr/bartman_451?_tr ... 7675.l2559

Many thanks to all those who built and donated these incredible pedals to the auction:

This year we have some nice pedals that will be up for auction including:

A minty Olive Drab Spaceman Sputnik that I am donating:

An Acoustic 370 Power amp pedal (I have one of these and it is AMAZING!!!!)

and a unique, awesome dirt pedal with a rainbow cat both from famed builder John Kallas:

Details on those two pedals can be found http://johnkvintageguitars.homestead.co ... -2016.html.

Also there is a special purple etched COG Effects Grand Tarkin, the king of Muffs:

And there will be several other pedals as well. Anyone wishing to donate can contact me; otherwise, get ready to bid on these amazing pedals in November!

I can't edit the above post but the account of the original auction last year can be found here: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/pedals ... y.1186353/

The auction will be on Reverb this November.

Oh boy that Acoustic 370 pre amp. The Acoustic 370 is my current amp of choice for everything that isn't guitar.

Gah! I almost forgot. The auction will also include the 'Sentinel' -- a unique distortion pedal from Broughton pictured here on the left:

Josh's description:

"The distortion is Mosfet. It has an asymmetrical type clipping and has a very distinct tone from diodes. The "low clip" knob is a HPF feeding the clipping stage, so you can get high clank distortion to full spectrum, and everything in between. I personally prefer a little bit of high cut for a throaty type overdrive, reminiscent of an amp tone."

Actually it's a circuit from the power amp stage of the Acoustic 370.

More info on it can be found here: http://johnkvintageguitars.homestead.co ... Pedal.html

I have one and it might be my favorite dirt pedal of all time because of how uncolored it is combined with the incredible clipping it has.

Less than 24 hours left in the auction!

There are no bargains to be had, which is fantastic, LOL. :thumb:

Many thanks to all those who have supported this! :!!!:
