Partially spurred on by this thread, I picked this up today. practically brand new. Full of amp models and effects. And saved patches. Surprisingly good build quality. Mostly metal and deceptively heavy. Haven't fuct with it yet, but I think it should work fairly well for my application. I also have a small board of Monte allums mt-2, Moog mf delay and behringer reverb machine. So either way.

Typical Digitech...Specs up the wazoo, for a ridulous price...But with the sort of aesthetics that make a lot of people assume it sounds as lame as it looks...:/

Danelectro Fab Tone. Cheap and gets very fuzzy for high gain pedal. Maybe too similar to your Metal Zone but worth a mention.

Oh so that is what you do with the feedbacker.
I had one, unloaded it for $60 as mine needed a new battery snap... and an owner who was going to use it.
It's similar to a DS-1 with the additional hold-for-faux-feedback mode. If you don't need the feedback just grab a $30 DS-1 :hobbes:

Reviving thread to ask people's opinions on dirty compressors for drum machines and synths. Been looking at a few. Love y'all!

1176 style fet compressors (not cheap) are colorful by compressor standards. The Origin FX Cali76 varieties are a good option, but if you wanna be big time srs.biz then I would get the Warm Audio WA76 & do it right.

Used they can be found under $500. And you'll have a piece of rack gear that sounds good with everything.

For pedals, more budget friendly and on the dirtier side, I'd go MXR Cust Comp Deluxe.

If you want a lofi piece of shit compressor with weird stereo outs look no further than an Arion SCO-1. I think I got one for like $15-20.

The Arion SCO-1, Boss LMB-3, and Fairfield Accountant are high on my list of "i could reasonably justify that expense if i unload a fuzz, and they look/sound really cool." I've heard good things about just a junk Boss pedal on drum machines.

Rusty: we disagree about a lot and agree so much on gear. It's a fun e-relationship. The Warm Audio WA76 is my "if i ever build a home studio again, it's fucking mine, no one can stop me." I'll check out the MXR. It and the Vermona Retroverb Lancet are my two like "oh hell yes, i'd get those and just use them on every song." Effects. maybe like, an Electrix Filter Factory and pretty much just a bunch of bonkers rack gear and spring verbs and bullshit that you can't tour with.
