What you guys think?

Any of you tried a similar guitar (maybe the regular edition)?

What about something like this with the Bigsby?

(Except still with humbuckers not the P-90s.) (I like the darker sunburst too.)

Godin makes great guitars that are completely affordable.

I went at the store and tried this one:

Not bad... but not for me... I'm not at ease with a guitar that has a Gibson scale. It feel wrong in my hands. :(

I think Godin is one of those super under-the-radar brands that should be way bigger than they are. And it looks like the 5th ave kingpin is available lefty now, so I may need some Godin back in my life at some point in the future.

I don't think it was too drastic but I did hear from a dealer friend that godin have recently gone through a quality downgrade for some or all of their instruments. Id always been a fan of the multiac acoustics and finally thought i might plunk down the cash as I'm moving back into an apartment soon and could use one for practice. He advised against it as they really aren't the bargain they once were.

Apparently the reason they got away with offering such great stuff for such low prices was that they apparently had some connection to the canadian logging industry and could acquire woods for far less than other companies because transportation wasn't such a problem.

Anyway from what I've heard they have been getting in guitars with wood that is far inferior and i checked the website and see that they have switched from ebony to the dreaded richlite for high end fingerboards.

I don't know if this impacts the electrics and I'm sure they are still a great deal, though less than they were in the 90s and most of the 2000s

They use richlite on those.

I didn't like the feel of the guitar when I tried it. But that's me... I prefer guitars with 25 or 25.5 scales and bigger neck.
