My Ghost Echo won't self-oscillate!

Post by colossus »

As the title says...

I just got one of these from a member here and I absolutely love it, but I was def excited for oscillation possibilities that I've read about/seen clips of on youtube. Even with my dwell and decay cranked, still no oscillation :idk:

Anyone else have this issue? Dwell also seems REALLY subtle. Is this par for the course with this pedal? I totally love it but it's def not as "soupy" as I was kinda hoping for.

I've heard of any self-oscillating Ghost Echoes? Mine never got too crazy.

edit: I've never heard of...

I didn't think these oscillated...I was pumped to think that they could, though. Will be watching this thread with interest.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

There might be a trimpot inside that controls the feedback range you could tamper with.

No trimpot, already checked. I don't know...a few reviews mentioned oscillation and I saw a demo here and there that got a bit more wild than mine with decay/dwell cranked. Manual also mentions oscillation.

Had a big box Ghost Echo that definitely oscillated before I got anywhere close to the full turn of the knobs. Chip? Tweaks to the corcuit for the smaller version? Larger box mojo oscillation toan?
Great deals with lordgalvar, filipre, seten, DannDubblewe, PumpkinPieces, backwardsvoyager, DADGBD, jwar, JonnyAngle, dandolin, pd~, Dungus, dminner

It's totally possible that they tamed it back in a later board revision. It might be worth asking mr earthquaker if that's the case and busting out the soldering iron.

Small box. I'll try a new chip and if no dice, I'll email EQD. I found a thread about DIY ghost echos and they mention swapping a certain resistor for more feedback.
