Very good! It's unique among chorus pedals that I've ever tried, nothing else seems to do quite what it does. Strengths? Versatility, slapback, clear bright sound. Weaknesses? I wouldn't really say it has any but it's not going to get you a warm classic chorus because that just isn't what it does.

It's one of my favorite choruses. The square wave vibrato is nauseating in the best way.

Yeah being able to dial in a lopsided lfo was my favorite thing to do with the sea machine. That weird slap back delay high feedback thing it does is pretty cool, too. & I'd agree that its not particularly "warm". You can make it subtle but that's not what it wants to do.

If you want exotic modulation, get a Sea Machine. If you want something more straightforward, that's more likely to fold into your other effects, then maybe try something like the CE-2w next month. I always thought this was a pretty good intro.

Other demos showcase the settings, where it functions more like a delay than a standard chorus. I personally like it for shimmery pulses and watery Martian textures.

It can do a pretty weird ultra slow vibrato/pitch bend with the square wave that I still think about sometimes.

Not for nothing: the V2 is an exquisite beauty, too.

i was just thinking about the Sea Machine yesterday when somebody gave a response to a demo i made awhile back, for some reason I wound up selling it off but listening to that demo again I kinda wish I would have kept it  pretty tasty modulation, I've got it running into the Zap machine in the demo and its liquidy sounds come through pretty good. towards the end i'm playing with feedback and go through its knobs, really great sounds in that pedal :joy:
i really like those sounds it was making around 4:30, and then playing with the knobs at like 5:50 onwards

The Sea Machine has this way of opening your sound up. Makes certain things just bigger sounding I guess?

Sea Machine is super awesome man, my housemate has one and its so nice. Not warm, but versatile in its own little way.

On mobile so I can't post it, but Andy Othling has a video where he demos it with a Bit Commander. It'll probably get you aroused despite the fact that doesn't represent ILF 'tastes' (if such a thing can be said to exist).

I think so! (There are two other people in my bed right now, so audio is out of the question.)

(Upon recognizance of that last apostrophe, I feel like I should add that the people are my wife and daughter. I do not interrupt the post-coital ménage-a-trois glow by posting to modulation pedal threads, no matter how 'thick' and 'chewy' they are.)
