I got a big kick out of this finish, very recently, the most macabre finish Tanya has done yet!
's Holiday in Transylvania Cosmichorus.jpg

The neat thing about this finish is the customer provided all the artwork for Tanya so she just had to cut it in the vinyl, he made it a piece of cake. (Just like Curtis and Stephen did recently too, thank you again dudes!)

I thought maybe you guys would want to see what the tools of the trade are for Tanya... I'll always think she's a genius for using her sign making skills on guitar pedals.

Here's the vinyl she uses, same kind that sign makers use, comes in 24" rolls and over the years she's rounded up a lot of different colours etc.

This is the plotter that cuts the vinyl from a program. Harvey Birdman fans please note the steely visage of Mr. Phil Ken Sebben.

definitely interesting! I was indeed wondering how it worked, looking at them the other day.
So she draws, then puts the artwork on pc, then the plotter prints\cuts it and then she applies it to the surface and finishes?

Sweet job on these pedals... the pink cosmi is awesomely creepy! :thumb:

Yep, you've pretty much got it down right... she uses a little tablet pad thingy to draw things into the computer and otherwise she manipulates images that are already in there to make them be able to cut with her plotter. For the pink cosmi up above, the customer provided Tanya with all the images of the dead dudes in black and then she just had to have the program cut them. It's basically the only way she can take on custom orders now since her time is spread so thin and custom stuff can just take forever.

Like that Giving Tree finish, that was at least a 2 day job, she just can't take on stuff like that any more. Beautiful finish though, it was lovely.

B-man, whatcha think of your Cleanness? You like that neat iridescent finish? I think that stuff looks really cool! Pretty much impossible to take a picture of though, isn't it... lately I'm having a hard time getting a good photo of anything though.

The Tremskullessence and the Cosmichorus graphics were both inspired by Kayzers collection!

Enjoy,

Oh my lord. That collection is amazing.

Did you get those custom done, or do you just wait until you see pink ones for sale?

Thanks!

Not all of them were custom. I am actually building an all pink pedal board (which I will be playing doom/sludge/drone metal with :thumb: ). I have one more pedal to order and I will be done, with the exception of a couple pedals that I want to add for shits and giggles :wha?: . As for the pink Dr Scientist pedals... it went something like this:

I Was looking for unique/cool/interesting pedals in pink and knew that the good ol' dr made some really cool stuff... I stumbled upon the "The Cleanness" pedal in pink and bought it :joy:! That was "numero uno"... I knew I wasn't done with the dr yet! I was aware of the "The Skullness" (skull Cleanness) pedal that Kayzer had and I thought it was cool ... I thought of the idea for the the Tremolessence  . I wanted it to be called "The Tremskullessence" and have skulls and pentagrams on it. So I contacted the good ol' dr and with a LOT of begging, pleading, crying and kicking, he agreed to build it :omg: . That was "numero dos"! I caught wind that the mad dr was going to discontinue the Woofer Wailer and freaked !!!! I wanted that pedal.... so I went on the hunt.... low and behold I found a pink one and scooped it up :yay:... "numero tres"! Being inspired yet again by another Kayezer pedal (his Horror Cosmichorus), I dreamt up another pedal ... I wanted impaled bodies/heads on stakes for my Cosmichorus ("Impaled Chorus" or "Cosimpaledchorus"). So I started creating the graphics myself, sent the dr a mock up of the pedal and inquired about them building it . The dr liked it, I tweaked the graphics a little more, sent in the appropriate art files and PRESTO... the pedal turned out KILLER  :yay: :animal:!!! The "Cosimpaledshorus" was "numero quatro"... I am really looking forward to the Elements pedal that will be made in the future as well as a mini reverberator and a "tweaked" Frazz :poke:. I have been really impressed with each pedal so far. The Cosmichorus sounds INCREDIBLE, by far one of the best chorus pedals out there :thumb:!

I will post pictures of the all pink pedal board soon. I am still working on the pedal board itself and looking for hot pink paint to paint it. But I will post pictures when done!! :thumb:

Take care,

Vid

Welcome to the forum, Vid, great to see you here! And awesome pics of your most unique pedal collection! Those look really cool together and man, that Cosmichorus you designed is just badass as hell. You've got to link us to some of that doom/sludge music you're making with your pink pedals, love to hear it.

Right on, B-man, thanks again!
