Micro Terror Power Problem

Post by John Matrix »

A while back I bought an Orange Micro Terror to use as a practice amp. It worked great for a while but after about a month of once a week use it started giving me problems. I'd turn the power switch on but the power light would not turn on and no sound came out of the amp. If i repeatedly switched the power off and on it would eventually power on. The light would start out very dim and then slowly get brighter until it was all the way on. Anyway, it was still under warranty so I sent it back and got it replaced with a new one. About a year later the new one starts doing the exact same thing. It's too late to return it now.

If anyone on here has any ideas of what the problem might be and any possible solutions I would be stoked.

For those not familiar with the amp, it has a tube pre amp and solid state power section. The power supply is external, sort of like the kind used for printers and scanners.
