Think I'll go with the Gator and a Trex Classic
now just need to convince my frontman he needs my shit
and yea, every time I see a band live with a B:assmaster on bass board I really like what I hear. I feel they are sort of what I go for, focusing on punchy and middy

The Fuel Tank Classic is just a fancy daisy chain, not isolated outputs. Personally I would get something else.

Re: Food for thought - what do when you got the itch but no
I'm kind of the same way (OP) with pedals and gear, in general. After beginning to buy pedals, I didn't sell anything...unless the thing I bought clashed with my existing gear in ways I couldn't finesse into being useful. Over a period of 6 months I accumulated about (33) mostly $100-200 tier pedals, standard fare with about 1/3 being boutique or vintage OEM. Realized I would never use so many, I sought to eliminate the considerable overlap within a good deal of them.
Also my tastes began distinguishing themselves so I proceeded to trade up, turning 2 of those lower-tier pedals into the $250+ club and so on. Mixed in were some "pedalboard jewelry" hens' teeth types which look great but didn't bond with my rigs. Trimmed down to about 22 but still found myself with fx I'd barely use...like any analog delay that isn't a DMM. So they went to fund other needs, wants, curiosities etc. I, too strive to be practical & streamlined...last year I made a thread about this topic & the balancing act involved.
The only pedal I've sold & repurchased was done so intentionally: A Zvex LFLJ (needed to raise money for a rarity, knowing I could replace the LFLJ with relative ease)
What I've wound up with...
Currently at 25, although I could see myself parting with any or all of those final 9 pedals & still retain everything I consider Essential. But I do have a Gen Loss & Pretty Years on the horizon...as well as wanting to score an octave fuzz

why is this way more stressful than buying pedals

Start lusting after something more expensive than a pedal that you can't afford yet like a new amp or guitar

I probably should sell pedals I don't use, but sometimes it's nice to have them when I don't feel like pulling my whole board out, or when I want to use something different to feel inspired, or especially when a friend wants/needs to borrow something. Rather than pulling something from my board, I can just hand it to the person and tell them to give it back when they're done.

Re: Food for thought - what do when you got the itch but no
PT-2 case (and they've allegedly improved them on the new ones) was solid as heck - since I don't gig, I haven't subjected it much but a decade of hauling high-value stuff around plus firearms cases tells me it's overbuilt for what it is.
Worth the money? I bought used, and bottom fed because I didn't *need* it. Can find a good deal that way sometimes!

I'll go with the Gator because I don't want hardcase (because I sometimes walk around the city with the board) and from the photos the Gator softcase looks like a clone of the Mono i've been using so that's good with me
In terms of softcases, the Pedaltrain looks like I'm not getting as much for the same money as with the Gator

I am having a hard time posting right now. Look into the 1Spot Pros. Some people have issues with outlets dying randomly. Cioks and Voodoo Labs have good reputations.
Would love to get another PT2 as it is manageable and a good size, even perfect for hiding cables and power supplies, but the contrarian in me doesn't want to get something so popular. I have a friend that is selling a PT Pro with PP2+ mounted, which is overkill but still tempting without even knowing his price.
Rustywire, your board is toe curling.

I agree, even if no1 else does or I don't win any beauty contests, I still find my stuff very stimulating. It's been a fun journey & still feels unfinished...like I've got my preferred vehicle gassed up & attire picked out & packed all ready to go...just need to plan a new route & possibly pick up some pals on the next trip.
My wireshelf-board is PT2-sized: 24" x 12" which was no more than $25 at container store.
Then put 2 square foot of corkboard tiling which was another $5 for 4 sq ft. Staples iirc.
Good cheap option if you plan on building one to park at home or in studio/practice space.

I have a PT-2 clone by Warwaick(Rockboard) with a bag and I like the size.
Fits a good amounts of pedals, but not too much. Also possible to bring it on the bus/metro without messing up my back too bad.

Re: Food for thought - what do when you got the itch but no
When I want to buy news without a need for them, it is almost invariably because I'm deflecting a dissatisfaction with playing/writing/projects/bullshit. Whenever I'm happily making music, I don't think about gear, because I have some basic (for 2016 anyway) but very flexible tools. Sometimes I catch myself and I realize it's the idea of the toy I want that is attractive, because I'm imaging myself using it as a vehicle for creativity that I feel is absent at the time. Usually I can stop myself from making a pointless purchase but, case in point, I impulse bought a distortion pedal last week around the same time as starting a thread whining about taking a break from music.
