Re: Pedals you wish were reissued
Another vote for an updated/improved version of Digitech's PDS series and time bender. And yeah, an Ibanez DML reissue would be rad.
Good call on the original ehx DMM. Another one I'd love to see from ehx: IC Muff.
And if Boss needs suggestions for more Waza Crafts: FZ-2, HM-2, PN-2,...
Come to think of it, I totally forgot about the CE-2W. Too bad it's more than twice what an old CE-2 would cost me. Sure the new one's got some CE-1 magic under the hood as well, but still...Too rich for my blood
The same price for a new authentic CE-1 reissue on the other hand...

Re: Pedals you wish were reissued
I agree with the Ibanez DML and a selection at least of others from the Power/10-series. Like the octaver and some phaser/chorus/flangers. Anyway, that pedal series has one of the coolest enclosure designs imo, and most have stereo/inv. outs which I also like. Though you can still get them at mostly reasonable prices (I have two mint ones, DS10 & TC10, that I bought together fo' cheap), it seems like they are getting scarcer. So plz Ibz, reissue soon, k?
Also the Space Station, of course.
Other than that I don't really lust for unobtainable or very expensive pedals, I personally couldn't stomach having one thing on my board worth more than a real sweet guitar or like five other small soundmakers.

OK, I'll say it since nobody else has (, but everyone probably wants to):
Klon Centaur in the original "horseyman" enclosure.

I feel like most things can be made with stuff available today, tbh. It's just that a lot of the originals look way cooler. Like the fender blender

I would be afraid of a waza fz-2. I'd picture many a parallel world were it would sound super sterile because lol "upgraded high fidelity components"

But the reissues of those looked just like the origs?Brandsmannen wrote:It's just that a lot of the originals look way cooler. Like the fender blender
I have an original one... gotta say that the reissue I played sounded a little more tamable, which is probably a good thing. I love the sound of mine—it's one of the most chaotic, unruly fuzzes I've ever played and sounds like lovely godfarts on its own, but it completely disappears as soon as you play it in a band. Uncanny.

Man a Klon can suck me sideways. LOL
This thread is hilarious. On the one side we got a fella getting upset because he thinks another fella is being selfish. On the other side we got a fella wanting to keep things sacred and scarce for the simple fact of being a collector.
I say I agree with the scarce concept. It's always a great feeling when you can get something that you know not everyone can get. It's like hunting for CD's or records. Used to do that shit back in the day. If they had just re-released everything (which those fuckers are doing now), where is the thrill of the hunt? What happens to collecting things and having them maintain value?
If you can't afford something, that's no one's problem but your own. Not being a dick, just stating a fact of life. Some people drive Corvette's, I'd love to own one, but I drive a Camry because I can't afford to drive a luxury vehicle. I don't get all pissy about it. I just am grateful I have something.
Just food for thought.

Re: Pedals you wish were reissued
Some pretty wildly differing opinions. I don't really fall into either pile—there are times when I feel both ways. I've got a few pretty collectable pedals, and on some mouth-breather level it's kinda cool to say I have them, and sure, maybe it'd feel weird or disappointing if they were reissued and everybody could join the club. That feels inherently wrong in a way, though.
In terms of me actually wanting things reissued, there are really only a couple. I mentioned the Rand-O-Matic just because I feel like a reissue would be the only way I'd ever get to play one—those things are rare as hens teeth.
One thing I do like about reissues: I hate it when people buy rare shit just to gouge people, and they don't actually get any enjoyment out of playing the pedals. Hype drives me nuts as well.
Case in point: the Centaur. As I've said too many times in other threads, I bought mine new way back before they were ridiculous, but now it seems like this massively poserish thing to have on my board because of all the stupid TGP-bloozer obsession. So anyway, sometimes I do feel like "reissue it and fuck those guys."
I did rather enjoy putting my Aphelion on Reverb for $485 (still quite a profit) when some dickheads have em on there for $800

Re: Pedals you wish were reissued
Yea but at the same time, if you're a collector or you like to flip things for profit, what's the harm in that? It's not like you're forcing anyone to buy something they don't have the money for. There's not code of ethics when selling rare gear that I've ever seen. ILF is the only place I've ever experienced people having an entitled feeling of "well you're on ILF and so am I, so you shouldn't charge me as much". Really? That's fucking stupid. If we are actually buddies, which I have quite a few here, then I wouldn't charge as much, but most likely I wouldn't sell them rare stuff either. Just seems like a bad decision all around. I've traded/sold with people on here before who I thought were cool guys and they turned around and took advantage of my good deal for them and made profit. So I don't feel bad doing the same.
If I buy something rare, I almost always have a sale in the back of my head. Especially when I get it for a killer deal and know I can make money selling it. It's the way I sometimes am able to afford what I really want. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Re: Pedals you wish were reissued
I, for one, don't sell pedals to people I don't think are going to flip them for a profit and I give good prices to the folks that I do sell to.
Are you saying you wouldn't sell me rare stuff, jwarrrrr?
