I just listened to Death Grips for the first time because of this thread and it gave me the urge to stab my ears with a pair of scissors. Seriously wtf did I just listen to. It was goddamn awful.
Re-Prophets of Rage. It's not Rage because no Zach, but I did hear some live stuff that sound ok-ish. I want to see them live and see what it's like. I wonder if they will play some Cypress Hill too. That would be awesome.

Zach Hill vs. Zach De La Rocha
Not musically, like, an actual cage fight, to the death

Hill. Don't underestimate the power of coke.
Also, forearms.
Also, forearms.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

But don't De La Rocha's whiteboy dreads have magickal powers?
I Whip My Hair Back N Forth. Does 1d6+8 damage, plus inflicts the enemy with the cognitive dissonance of an anti-globalist, socialist musician on a major label, causing madness for three turns.

I'm told that peace sells, too. But I'm not sure who's buying...?Mudfuzz wrote:casecandy wrote:But don't De La Rocha's whiteboy dreads have magickal powers?

He's Mexican mixed with Irish and German. Does that qualify as white boy status? The German and Irish overrides the Mexican? Just curious.D.o.S. wrote:.casecandy wrote:But don't De La Rocha's whiteboy dreads have magickal powers?

Turns out the construction of race is really complex, for reasons like these.jwar wrote:He's Mexican mixed with Irish and German. Does that qualify as white boy status? But for real, i enjoy Death Grips in the most passing of ways. I like the idea of industrial hip hop more than the playing out, i think.

Jwar, I think "your whiteboy dreads" would be on my shortlist of things to say if I wanted to piss him off. I imagine you feel similarly?

I just thought it was a weird way to analyze the guy.
